CHRISTMAS DECOR CONTINUES

For the past ten years, I have displayed this Fontannini nativity set on the mantel. This year, I decided to go for a change on the mantel. You can see this year's mantel here.

I have put the Fontannini set on a table in the front entry, and I love it here. To read about Fontannini figures and how I practically stole this set at an estate sale years ago, click here.

I can enjoy the figures and the details so much better than I could when they were on the mantel.

This may become a permanent Christmas home for this set.

I have also displayed my mother's figures of Scrooge and the other characters in the front entry.

Each year, our grands eagerly await the arrival of  the Christmas carnival in our sunroom.

The sunroom is filled with snowmen.

I set up a small wine bar in the sunroom, using the wine stems my sister gave me years ago.

The snowmen have over-populated the sunroom buffet.

They are also populating the plate rack above the buffet.

They've also taken over a side table in the sunroom.

Thank you for reading my blog. Have a great weekend!

Your home is just magical. I, too have a large collection of snowmen that are decorating my den. I didn't see any Snowsnickles. Have you met Snowsnickles? Google Snowsnickles and see how she places a nickle in the base of her figures to honor the nickle that she used to buy the book that inspired her. I have so many that I would love to gift you with one of mine. I could either mail it or get it to you when I come to visit my mom either this winter or spring.

When my hubby and I married we were given his childhood creche. The stable was built from wine crates and half of the figures were made by a dear lady from his church. The others were dime store figures. We will have been married for 50 years in April so our children, especially our son, dinged them up pretty badly. Last year we invested in new Fontanini figures. As I said earlier, he grew up in New England where they really did have white Christmas, so they always draped the roof of the stable with angel hair to represent snow. Our kids have grown up with that and see that as normal.

Merry Christmas

Laurie, I sit here and smile thinking about how much joy you must feel each year as you decorate your home. Your collections of different things is amazing. My snowmen didn't come out to play this December. Perhaps they will make an appearance in January. '-)
Merry Christmas!
