CHRISTMAS TABLE PLAIDS

Are you ready for Christmas?  About this time every year, I start trying to talk my family into postponing our Christmas celebration.

I talk to them about how nice it would be to buy Christmas gifts when the stores weren’t so crowded.

I talk to them about what great gifts they would get if I could wait until the after Christmas sales to do my shopping.

I tell them that there wouldn’t be any problem deciding whether to have Christmas with the in-laws or with us.

They could go to their in-laws on Christmas day, and still have Christmas at our house several weeks later.

My arguments always fall on deaf ears, and I’m not counting on this year being any different.

Update on our grandson, Cooper:  Surgery to repair his heart valve is scheduled for tomorrow.  It is so comforting to know that so many of you are praying for our little fighter.

Um..the AFTER Christmas sales are for you to shop for next year! Thus, eliminating the need to postpone Christmas; you got last years' bargains! I shop clearance most of the year and then pull out my box in December to look over my stash!

Well, what are you gonna do ... they never listen.

At any rate, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas whether it is on the calendar day or not.

I'm afraid that, as nice as it would be having the extra time to prepare, I seriously doubt that anyone in my family would be willing to delay, especially Maddie the Great! Of course, I could START earlier, but where's the fun in that???

Hi Laurie! I mentioned your idea a few years ago and nobody liked it. Then I also tried just giving everyone a gift card for Christmas and then they could take advantage of the AFTER Christmas sales on their purchases....No go on that, either. Oh well...But to me, whatever day you celebrate your love for family, THAT is a special holiday! Merry Christmas to you and your family...and prayers for your grandson.

I'm crazy about the whole thing. Believe it or not, my favorite thing on the table is the napkin in napkin ring. I have a thing for stuff sticking up on the plate. Don't know why, but I do. I love this. No wonder your family doesn't want to postpone celebrating with you!

(And plus, in a recession the buying is better before Christmas since stores don't stock up like they used to and manufacturers don't even make as much. Let that console you...)

If I don't get around again (but I plan to) Merry Christmas!

Please keep us posted on little Cooper! Many hugs to your family!!
I love your table, since plaids and paisleys are my very favorite fabrics. Those large napkin rings are wonderful - they add another dimension to the table. Merry Christmas!

Beautiful table Laurie. Love the plaid tablecloth and the plaid plates, it is stunning. The antlers certainly have found a perfect spot in the vases. Think I will be too tired to shop the sales. Merry Christmas.

Love your tables, Laurie! Looks like you will have a big crowd for Christmas. Those plaid plates are wonderful. Love the plaid tablecloth, too! I'm sooo obsessed with plaid this year. Love the ornaments hanging from the antlers...made me smile! Merry Christmas, sweet friend. God Bless you and your family and may it be the most wonderful Christmas ever!

I bet you are so much ahead of me this year. I'm afraid it's going to be gift cards this year. I am determined to start in January for next year and not leave it till December. Cooper is still in my heart and prayers and I had word back from sisters and a brother-in-law that they they were praying for him. Love you!

Gorgeous table, Laurie...love the tartan with gold.
I would be available for adoption so you could do Christmas at a less busy time! It would be nice to put if off a month, wouldn't it!
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!
