Some of you may have thought you’d already seen my Santa collection, when I showed my hutch filled with Santas here.  Yikes!  There are a few more Santas on my shelves. Ho-Ho-Ho!

tree right
We finally got our tree decorated.  I’m a tree traditionalist.  Real trees, with many ornaments dating back to our first years of marriage (and that was a long… um, it was awhile ago.

Some ornaments on this tree also date back a lot of years.  I thought we might not get either tree up this year, since our premature grandson has thrown us all for a loop.  He is being transferred to a different hospital tomorrow, and his big sisters are staying at our house.

Of course, with grandchildren helping, some of our ornaments ended up shattered on the floor.  I think we have enough to make up for it though. (Yes, we put up two real trees.  I know, I’m crazy, but I have fun being crazy – that is, until I have to take it all down.)

For Table Top Tuesday at A Stroll Thru Life, I’m sharing our bedroom Christmas mantel.

Thank you for stopping by to see my Christmas overload.  Be sure to go visit A Stroll Thru Life for Table Top Tuesday.
Our 2 1/2 week old, (now 2 pounds), premature grandson is having some heart problems.  I would appreciate your prayers.

Hi Laurie! I finally got over and got caught up on all your wonderful holiday decorations! I LOVE spending time over here during Christmas! I look forward to it. It's like your blog is one of those awesome houses all decked out with lights that you can't wait to drive by each year! Everything just looks so fun and happy! I want to visit you and take a tour! LOL

I am so sorry about your grand baby! He is in my prayers and positive thoughts!

Laurie, I was praying for Cooper today. I have 2 more babies I'm praying for, the other two worrisome but nothing like what your grandson is struggling with. But one day at a time, one prayer at a time for the doctors and nurses to do their best and for God to do what they might not be able to. And for your son and daughter-in-law and for you and your husband as you pitch in to help with the girls.

I read your post with the sweet thoughts about the children in Connecticut and cried through it. I believe that all the thoughts and prayers of bloggers are being a part of helping the families, somehow, some way.

Seeing the pictures of your Christmas houses in the post made me wish that each child there that survived could see this kind of normal Christmas beauty and be carried into a happier time that children inhabit at Christmas. I know it made me relax and take comfort from it, just as I know your granddaughters and your other grandchildren love it all. And I can see right now that you are not in the regular category of arranging Christmas houses. Wow! Were you a NY dept. store window dresser at one time? However did you learn to do that?

I have tried to pull together my thoughts today for my next post but feel blocked. When the time is right it will come. Meanwhile, it does help me to look at your beautiful pictures. I love those wreaths on the back door!

I do hope that grandson will be feeling better, soon! I LOVE looking at your Christmas decorations every year. I tried to convince my husband that your Christmas collecting condition was a little worse than mine, but he thinks I'm well on my way. ;o) Then only thing I don't like about collecting is having to put it all back/or remembering where it is the following year. ;o) Hope you're enjoying your time with the grands!

I'm keeping your new grandson in my prayers. I hope he gains strength every day. I love your Santas...I've never seen anything so beautiful. I've gone crazy at the thrift stores this month buying vintage things...now I don't feel so guilty! heehee! Would love to find some ice skates! You have a fabulous home! Love everything! Happy holidays! Give those grandkids hugs!

Lots of great things here Laurie! I appreciate your use of family ornaments instead of a "theme" tree. I like and use theme trees, but I also have to have at least one real tree each year with all of our family ornamnents, which includes everything from Beatles' yellow submarines to primitive rusty stars, to kindergarten marcaroni art ornaments, sock monkeys, you name it! I also am Christmas obsessed but like you I am dreading the take down.
Hope you will stop by my blog and see some of my Christmas obsessions!

Oh Laurie,
I will be praying for little Dylan. I have been thinking a lot about you and him. I've been thrown by my Mom's stroke, so I know just what you mean.
Now I am so excited to see your home all decked out! This just makes me smile, so so beautiful!
I just adore your back porch and of course your two amazing trees and that Santa collection should be on HGTV, its amazing!
Hugs and prayers Laurie,
Cindy

Laurie, I've been keeping your grandson and your family in my prayers. I know this is a stressful time for each of you.
I love to see your home decorated for the holidays. I admire you for putting up two real trees. It's fun to pull out the ornaments that you've collected through the years. For me it's like visiting old friends. ;-)

Honest to goodness...it's hard to understand why bad things happen to good people. I am really sorry that baby is having to fight like this right off the bat in life. I am going to pray that he wins that battle big time! Meanwhile, Laurie, your trees are nothing short of spectacular! I admire your bravery for doing TWO REAL ONES!!! Your vacuum cleaner is really going to get a workout!!! The more trees, the merrier, though...so go for it! Your mantels are beautiful, too. I really like the stockings on the last one! As for that Santa collection....girl, get help!!! :-) :-) :-) (I have my nerve!) Merry Christmas!

First, I'll say that I will keep your little grandson in my prayers. I had wondered how he was doing and am sorry to read about the heart problems.

As usual, I was purely delighted from the first picture to the last. I can't believe how beautifully you decorate two LIVE trees.

Beautiful! Everything is just too beautiful! Your ornaments look very elegant, and I like the idea of having 2 Christmas trees, so Christmas-y! :) Wishing you a Merry Christmas Laurie! Take care! :)
