CHRISTMAS IN THE KITCHEN

Christmas in Kitchen

I’m really NOT still decorating for Christmas.  I am still taking pictures to share with you.  I’ve already shared the Christmas décor in our family room (here, here, and here), our study, our entry, and our sun room.

CHRISTMAS IN THE ENTRY

Christmas is almost here, and I'm still decorating!  I think I may be a little obsessed!  I need to start cooking, but I can't seem to stop decorating.

CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR

I'm so excited to be a part of the Holiday Home Tour, hosted by Michele at Shelstring.  If you haven't seen the other homes on the tour, they are listed at the bottom of this post, and I know you'll want to go see all of them.

FRIDAY FAVES-KEEPING PROMISES

Christmastime
When I shared my Christmas supper table here, you may have had a glimpse of our Christmas trees.  I told you I'd share more about them later.  So, here it is (or here they are).

CHRISTMAS TIME SUPPER

Christmastime Supper 8

I set a table in front of the fireplace for a relaxed soup and sandwich supper.  (We call it supper if it is a light meal and dinner if it is a heavy meal.  Do you do that?)  I have to tell you about the quilt that covers the table.  Other bloggers are always telling about these great deals they find at Goodwill stores.  I don’t live near a GW store, but when I met some other bloggers in Memphis several years ago, we went to a GW.  I found this quilt for $2.00, and I’ve used it on tables every Christmas since then.  It’s my one and only GW bargain.

Each Christmas season, I use our Fontanini nativity set on the family room mantel.
Christmas Mantel
If you have visited my blog during past Christmas seasons, you may think the mantel is identical to our previous Christmas mantels.

A LITTLE SANTA COLLECTION

Santa Collection 1
Before I was married, I had a little Santa collection.  I’m talking about three or four Santas.
Santa Collection 3
I’ve been married 45 years, and it is so easy to buy me a gift.  Everyone just gifts me with another Santa, and my collection grows, and grows, and …

FRIDAY FAVES-CHRISTMAS

Christmas in the Kitchen

I’m still trying to get ready for our big family celebration on Christmas Eve, but I wanted to share some Christmas décor from around our home.  This post contains a lot of photos and very few words. These first photos are from the kitchen.

CHRISTMAS TREES

Christmas-Bargain Decorating with Laurie

We decorate two trees for our family room.  This year’s trees are skinnier than the trees we have had in the past, so a lot of our ornaments didn’t make it out of the boxes this year.

FRIDAY FAVES AT MY HOUSE

Snowmen Collection

Normally, when you visit me for Friday Faves, I am posting beautiful photos I’ve seen on the internet.  With Christmas on the way, I haven’t had much time for internet browsing, so today, I’m posting some of my favorite Christmas decorations in our sunroom.

HAVE YOURSELF A RETRO LITTLE CHRISTMAS

Retro Christmas-Bargain Decorating with Laurie

We have a bribe tradition (that sounds much nicer) we do each year before Christmas.  I invite our children and grandchildren over for dinner, and all of them help decorate the two trees in our family room.

CHRISTMAS TABLE-I’M A COPYCAT

Christmas Table-Bargain Decorating with Laurie

When Cuisine Kathleen issued her challenge to copy a holiday table, I knew just the table I wanted to copy.  So, I hope that Susan at Between Naps on the Porch, thinks that it is flattering to be copied.  Don’t panic if you haven’t done your table copy for the challenge.  I’ve done it again!  I’m a week early with my copied table!

CHRISTMAS MANTEL

Christmas Decor-Bargain Decorating with Laurie

Last week, there were pilgrims on our mantel.  Now, my Fontanini nativity set is on the mantel.  I always say that I seldom change where my Christmas décor is placed.  This nativity set is always the centerpiece of our Christmas mantel in our family room.

CHRISTMAS TABLES FROM THE PAST

ovrhd

For this week’s Seasonal Sundays, The Tablescaper is hosting a “Christmas Past” event.  I can’t share my past Christmas décor, because my décor looks the same from year-to-year.  If I posted Christmas décor from previous years, I’d have to skip posting this year’s décor, because it would look the same.
