SCHOOL DAZE

Yes, around our house, we are having School Daze.  With our youngest beginning pre-K this year, all four of our grands are now in school, so we celebrated being in the daze of going back-to-school and starting school.

When our youngest grand came by my office after her first day of Pre-K, I asked how her first day went.  She said, “It was good, but I thought the teacher might talk about Ronald, and she didn’t.”  Puzzled, I looked at her mother for a clue, and her mother said, “Her teacher’s name is Mrs. McDonald!”

I’m so glad you came by to see what kind of daze I am in now!  I apologize
for being such an intermittent blog poster.  I just don’t have  anything interesting
going on in my life right now.  Once a week, I  post on my writing blog,
Battling  My  Inner Critic, Please stop by there for a visit.  Thanks!
Laurie

I am NOT a blog stalker although it looks that way since you just barely got this one up. I just happened to sit down for a little rest and clicked and there you were!

It's good to see you, and i love the mantel. I'm very drawn to old school stuff, always have been.

And I LOVE the story about Ronald. That needs to be recorded for family posterity!

You are such the creative one my dear!
So glad to see you posting and thanks for the note you left me too.
I didn't get the E-card but I sure appreciate the thought!
Happy Labor Day to you and I will be visiting your writing blog too.
Hugs friend,

Kids are so funny!! I had been giving new parents a cute journal as a gift to write down all those wonderful things that their children will say and do over the years. I wish I had thought of it when my boys were little. So many of those cute expressions have long gone along with the rest of my mind-

Love you School Daze Vignette- you are amazing!

Happy Labor Day, Laurie! Such a fun post for this retired teacher. LOL Love the Ronald McDonald story. Takes me back to my classroom days. ;-) If your grands have scrapbooks, this quote should definitely be included!
Enjoy the day ~ Sarah

Hi ya Laurie!
Thought I'd pop by for a visit and so glad I did! That is hysterical what your granddaughter said! The thoughts they have that we sometimes don't even know!
One of the things I just love about you is how you make all the special events in life... so special through your decortating! It really is an admirable way to live and I'm always so inspired by it!
Love ya!! L~

Dear Laurie,
I love all those books. And when you wrote me about you owning your childhood copy of The Cheerful Cherub ....well that just cheered me up! What fun it must be to hear all the chatter from your grandchildren. They do say the darndest things!

Laurie, the Ronald comment is just priceless. That just cracked me up. Your vignette is just fabulous. I love the chalk boards and the books are wonderful. Enjoy these days, they pass so quickly. Hope all is well. Hugs, Marty

You have INSPIRED me! I am going to do a back-to school mantel too--especially good since I was thinking last week that I'm tired of the current setup.
Happy back-to-school busy, busies!

Oh how cute with your littlest Grand. Our oldest grandgirl started school this year. Oh how I hope she holds on to the excitement she has for school right now. Love all your back-to-school goodies.

Love your old books being displayed that way Laurie! It's fun and exciting around here as well. The princess starts Pre-K next Monday. She is beyond excited! We did a little school clothes shopping this evening. Thank goodness they are encouraging parents to volunteer a lot because I am not sure I could completely stay away!

Oh Laurie that's too darn cute!! Mrs McDonald!
I'm so glad the kiddos are back at school. It's so nice quiet and peaceful in my neighborhood now.
Your school daze vignette is wonderful! And I'm hoping the daze will continue to be sunny around here for awhile *winks* Vanna

Hilarious story, Laurie! Your school days mantel is wonderful. I remember the Dick and Jane books. I was reading at age four so I kinda thought those books were a little boring! lol Give me a good novel any day! Good to see your post today. I know what you mean about not posting. I am only chronicling our backyard progress. No projects at home- and no incentive to do one, either. :-) xo Sue
