TRICK-OR-TREAT TABLE
For a meeting I’m hosting, we will have snack foods, and trick-or-treaters have invaded the buffet table.
As a centerpiece, I used cling-on trick-or-treating figures on the glass panes of this lantern
A lantern on each side of the center lantern holds a reproduction of a Halloween candy holder.
I used spider leg cupcake holders to hold black cat votive candles.
Jack-o-Lantern face plates will hold some of the pick up foods. (cbk, Union City, TN)
A cheese ball and crackers, dip and chips, and other foods will be served on black and white plaid bordered plates by Tag.
The spreaders are witch shoes, a gift from a friend some time ago.
Black and white polka dot plates are melamine by Moda Home. I bought them at Tuesday Morning a few years ago.
The orange melamine plates below are by Glitterville.
Ghostly napkins, which I’ve had for a very long time.
“The Devil Made Me Eat It” cake plate is Department 56 and was a gift from a friend a couple of years ago.
It was so nice of you to stop by to see my trick-or-treaters. laurie

HALLOWEEN SPOOKS
Come into my parlor, and let me tell your fortune. I’m Matilda, and I apologize for the ghost who floated into the side of my face when Laurie took this picture. Such a distraction from my beauty! I just can’t seem to get rid of those pesky ghosts.
Would you like to have a tarot card reading? I can’t find my tarot cards. I suspect one of those ghosts has stolen them.
This set of tarot cards belonged to Laurie’s grandmother. They were apparently made for learning how to read fortunes, because there are fortunes written on the cards, as well as a picture of the corresponding playing card. I wouldn’t need any of that silly stuff if I had my own cards. I’ll get that ghost! I can see right through them.
When Laurie was a child, she found these cards in the attic. She asked her mother how to play this game, and her mother grabbed the cards and told her that it was a bad game. The cards were not seen again, until Laurie cleaned out her mother’s house and discovered them in the bottom of a drawer.
I’ve explained to Laurie that her mother was wrong. This is no game! This is life and death!
If you don’t like the fortune told by the cards, I can look into my crystal ball.
Oh My! That fortune isn’t looking too good either. What? You question my expertise!
I graduated third in my class at Warlock University! I’m the first one on the left in this picture. I’ve gained a little weight since 1910, but who hasn’t?
My butler, Boris, is offering you a little refreshment. Yes, he’s a short little man. That’s what happens to somebody when they don’t do what I say! I was being nice that day. He could have wound up being a toad or a rat for my stew! But I did come close with that face I gave him!
What’s that? You say you aren’t hungry? Boris can pour you a drink if you’re thirsty. Yes, those are small cups, but I assure you, you don’t want a large drink from any of my bottles.
Go ahead. Pick your poison!
While you are here, I’ll just give you a little tour of the street where I live. Yes, I do know how to drive a stick. Hop on!
(Laurie got that stick idea from another blog, which has the cutest printable. I took away some of Laurie’s memory, so she wouldn’t remember how to get back home. I didn’t want her to find me entertaining guests in her house. She can’t remember the blog, but if her memory returns, she’ll come back and post it here.) Are you ready for take off?
Yes, some of our houses look a little menacing.
We do have a couple of street lights, but for some reason, they never work.
Look! The trick-or-treaters have climbed into the tree and are afraid to come down!
Oh, that makes me cackle! Isn’t Halloween night fun?
Ah ha! I’ve discovered the problem. The neighborhood pets are putting out the street lights!
The name of our street is “Spooky”. We are so proud of our new street sign.
I hope you’ll be back to visit my parlor again soon. Next time, please bring your appetite with you. I wouldn’t want to have to make you end up looking like Boris!
Laurie appreciates you coming by to visit. She is sharing my parlor at the following parties: Met Monday at Between Naps on the Porch (because her game table certainly didn’t look like this last week), Inspire Me Tuesday at A Stroll Thru Life, The Scoop at Confessions of a Plate Addict, Homework Wednesday at Worthing Court, Open House Thursday at No Minimalist Here, and Feathered Nest Friday at French Country Cottage.
