Last Summer, I kept a basket ready for an impromptu picnic at any time.
I had not yet done that this year, but after church, two of my grandchildren came home with me to eat a sandwich, and they wanted to know where the picnic basket was.
Grandmothers frequently forget, but grandchildren never forget.
Grandmothers always want to please their grandchildren, and this "Gigi" is no different. So, of course, I got a picnic basket ready.
Plates, jars for our drinks, napkins, forks, knives, and spoons and a red checked tablecloth are necessities. I even stuck in some faux flowers for a centerpiece (I'm not just a grandmother. I'm a blogger too.)
We invited the ladybugs along in case someone needed salt and pepper.
So, our picnic basket is ready. Now, if the weather will cooperate, we'll have an impromptu picnic.
Are you ready for a picnic at your house?
Thank you for coming to see our picnic preparations.
This post is partying with Met Monday at Between Naps on the Porch and Inspire Me Tuesday at A Stroll Thru Life.

The fact that your grandkids asked about the basket makes it about a million times more important. What a great idea!
What an adorable basket. You are right about grand kids never forgetting.
What a great idea! Even though my grandson is only 8 weeks old, my wheels are already turning. Good job Gigi!
What a cute idea!! I bought at Sam's a miniature picnic table for the screened in back porch and my grands have enjoyed it so much. They eat, color, paint, etc all out there and just think it is great. Aren't grandkids the most precious gift?

What a wonderful idea. i have two picnic basket and I should get them ready for a picnic.
I take a friend shopping as she doesn't have a car, so I should pack a picnic and we could stop somewhere and have our lunch. Even the fast food restaurants are so expensive now days and the food is terrible for us.
I love all the colors you have in the basket, looks so bright and cheerful.
Have a wonderful week Laurie. How's that little grandson doing?
Hugs,
Mary
After reading your post Laurie I know I'm read to go on a picnic. Your basket and contents look so festive I know your grandchildren will enjoy. Happy Mother's Day.
that's adorable Laurie, and yes, grandchildren's memories are way too good!

Laurie, great idea to keep a picnic basket filled and at the ready. Never know when you want to head out to a park or just outside to the pool. I'll link to this post too. Thinking of you!
