THANKSGIVING MANTEL

Thanksgiving Mantel-Bargain Decorating with Laurie
Last month, Edgar Alan Poe was on our mantel.  Along with the crows and owls, Edgar has moved out, and I’ve decorated the mantel for Thanksgiving.

I bought this framed needlepoint cornucopia at an estate sale several years ago, and I used it for the mantel centerpiece.

On one end of the mantel, I used a wire cornucopia that belonged to my mother.  Painted pumpkin tags on each end of the mantel are the work of Karen Harvey Cox at A Scrapbook of Inspiration.

A green wicker cornucopia decorates the other end.  I hung little berry wreaths on the lamps and the lanterns.  I bought those wreaths at a dollar store a few years ago (3 for $1). I think I’ve gotten my  moneys worth out of those wreaths.

When the fireplace is not in use, a burlap bag, filled with Fall leaves adds color to the fireplace box.

Pumpkins and tall vases, filled with feathers and limbs, add a Fall touch to the hearth.
Thanksgiving Mantel
We are finally feeling a little nip in the air here in Arkansas, and our trees are showing their glorious colors.  I remembered to set my clocks back this weekend.  It’s Fall ya’ll.  Are you feeling a nip in the air, or have you already had snow on the ground?
Thanks so much for reading BDwL.

I’m partying with Met Monday at Between Naps on the Porch, Inspire Me Tuesday at A Stroll Thru Life, Tweak it Tuesday at Cozy Little House, and You’re Gonna Love It Tuesday at Kathe with an E.

You decorate like me...lots of "things". My question is...what do you do when YOUR toddler grandchildren come to visit???? My home is definitely not baby-proofed...

Hi Laurie, you designed the perfect mantle. Love the cornucopia as the main piece and then all the details that accent are gorgeous.
You are as talented with mantlescapes as you are with the tablescapes!!
When are you starting up your HGTV show?? I will be your biggest fan!
