Edgar Allan Poe has taken over our mantel for Halloween. “Nevermore quoth the raven.”
That is a scary looking owl on top of the lantern.
I hope this Scottish Proverb will keep us safe. I didn’t put shadows in these photos for effect. It was an overcast day when I took these pictures.
There is a sweet little girl riding on a raven.
Black owls and ravens everywhere!
A pumpkin-headed boy is riding on the back of a raven.
And this raven, fully dressed in formal attire, is keeping the time.
I see the shadows of trick-or-treaters headed this way. I hope the spookiness on the mantel doesn’t scare them away.
Yes, I change my mantel more than I change my hair style—a LOT more! Thank you for visiting. I hope our mantel didn’t frighten you away.

Hi Laurie,
Your mantle looks awesome! I agree with Michelle's comment above…love the Poe tie - in. I sometimes like to put my posts to poetry. Anyway, this looks so festive, fun and perfect for Halloween…so creative! I love it all…the lanterns are wonderful to.
