I'm not quite ready to go completely Fall on the mantel, but it was time for the Walk on the Beach theme to go. So now we can walk in the woods on our mantel.
Deer sheds cover the "ground" in our "woods".
A big log has fallen on the path.
If we walk quietly, we may see a deer or two, who came out of my Christmas decorations closet.
A wreath is hanging on the window of a cabin in the woods.
We may get arrested for peeking in the cabin window.
But maybe the French plates I bought at an estate sale won't call the police.
Peacock feathers add a little color to the woods.
Some of the trees have interesting bark.
Let's watch the sun setting in the woods.
You'd think with all of the walking on the beach and in the woods, I'd be in great physical shape. I guess I don't burn many calories on imaginary walks though.
Thank you for walking in the woods with me. Exercise is more fun when I have a friend with me.
I’m partying with Met Monday at Between Naps on the Porch, and Inspire Me Tuesday at A Stroll Thru Life.

I get such a kick out of your commentary on each picture. I love the mantel. It's hard to think about fall, as it is so hot here in the desert.
Looks great Laurie and it does feel like I am walking in the woods.
Hoping that the weather gets cooler soon. Have a great week.

I love this. I am debating what to do on my mantke for this "in between" time. Have a beautiful day!
So creative! I love peeking in the window. Somehow it reminds me of "The Gingham Dog and Calico Cat" my mother would read or recite to us growing up. The plate was a witness to the terrible fight.
I would love to walk in the woods with you and your grandkids.
Love your "walk in the woods" theme Laurie. I love your imaginary walk, it is very inspiring and creative. A great transition into fall with this look! Happy week. Hugs.............
Laurie, you always have the most creative ideas! Your mantel is perfect for transitioning into Fall!
