SANTA CRAZY

Yes, I’m crazy about Santa.  Or… I have a lot of Santas, and therefore, I’m crazy!  This is not ALL my fault.  You know how it is.  When you have a little collection of something,  everybody thinks they know exactly what to give you for birthdays and Christmas?

That’s what happened to me – that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.  If you’re a new Christmastime visitor to my blog, you may think this is a LOT of Santas.
Santa
(There are more Santas at my house!) I’m whispering now and hanging my head in shame.  I’ll be sharing others in future posts.

I’ve tried to downsize my collection, but I hate to part with any of them.  I’ve been collecting them for over 40 years, so they have become my Christmastime friends.  Besides, would Santa bring me anything if I started getting rid of him?

I stuck a little candlestick lamp in this Fitz and Floyd pitcher.  When you’ve got this many, at least one of them has to become useful.

This little lamp normally holds prisms, but I’m now using it to display some Santas.

I can just hear women all over Blogville, calling their husbands to come see this – “You think I’ve got a lot of Christmas décor; just look at what this crazy person’s husband puts up with!”

Some of them are even on the wall behind the opened hutch doors!

So…when your mother told you that Santa is everywhere, I have the proof that she was being truthful!

He’s watching, and watching, and watching and….  (I can’t get away with anything.)
I’m linking this post to Table Top Tuesday at A Stroll Thru Life.  If you can stand it, come back soon to see more Santas!   Ho! Ho! Ho!  laurie

I love it! I have thought about starting a Santa collection. I only have a few but I love them. If you ever get tired of yours, just send them my way!

I confess ... I have a Santa collection too. But mine isn't nearly as impressive as yours! I think it looks fabulous.

I have found someone who's not simplifying this Christmas! YaY! Love your collection, Laurie. Do you leave them in that cabinet all year round or put them away after Christmas.

And a pretty collection it is! I started a collection of Santas many years ago, but gave the majority to my children. Just don't have the room to store or display.

Guess what? I collect them too! Stay tuned on my blog and you'll see them soon. ha hahaha I lost count this year at 48, but I still think you have my collection beat.

Aren't they FUN! Love them! Thanks so much for your visit and comment, too. Come back to see my Santas! Susan

Laurie, what a wonderful collection! Do you keep them in the cabinet all year or do you have to unpack and pack each year? I used to be almost that bad with roosters, but I finally parted with 99.99% of them.

Since Carlene and Marigene have both asked the same question, I'll answer it here in case anyone else is curious. The collection does not stay in this cabinet. I am fortunate to have a nearby holiday closet where I put them on shelves. I don't have to pack them up or unpack them. It's not nearly as much trouble when I'm not having to lug boxes from the attic. However, they may stay up until summer this year! Thanks for asking.

Hello dear Laurie! I adore your sense of humor, sweet friend...and I have to say...these darling Santas are all displayed so beautifully, and with such style!
I love Santas, and if I had the room for it, I would have a collection too!
I thank you so much for visiting me...your home is no less magical than the ones in those photos...
Big hugs, and enjoy the fun Christmas decorating!

I know what you mean. I once started collecting bear figurines. Within a year they were out of control...lol. I have Santas of the World and I have about 5 of them and I'm always looking for more but they are hard to find. Love your collection!

Laurie, it's always fun to see your Santa collection. I've never had a huge collection, but I do have Santa figures. I've given many of my larger ones to my nieces through the years, but find that I still want to add one when I see something that captures my heart. My latest......3 antique Santa chocolate molds. A friend thought I needed some. No doubt more will join over time. LOL

I have admired your collection for years dear Laurie!
Inside that hutch, just perfect!
It's so fun to see all the different styles and types of Santas you have.
Hugs,
Cindy
P.S. If you ever do decide to part with one or two I know just where you can send them! hehe.

I'm planning to put my Santas up today and will be reminded YET AGAIN, that I am a pure out amateur in the Christmas department when compared to you.

I love looking at all the different figures. There are as many different Santas as there are imaginations. That's true of the real thing, too, isn't it?

I've said it before but I'll say it again: I would LOVE to visit your home at Christmas, and I would doubly love it if I could bring a child with me.

Laurie what an amazing and beautiful collection of Santa's! I would find it hard to part with them also. Going back for another look!

I love it! No doubt at all that Laurie still believes in Santa Claus. That pitcher is amazing but even the smallest Santa is darling and displayed with your usual great style. I'm going to sit down tonight and look as closely as if I were looking for a needle in a haystack. This was so much fun! And I know you well enough, from even my short time visiting your blog, that the more solemn part of Christmas is important to you also.

Lovely collection! Who doesn't love Santa Claus, I must confess, I also adore him. I look forward to coming years seeing your collection growing. :)
