DEJA VU

If you experience a little déjà vu as I post my Christmas décor, it’s because I don’t change it much from year-to-year.  So, if you were visiting my blog last year, I apologize.  There won’t be much difference in the photos you see this year!  I have begun with the mantel.  (I say “begun”, because although I put everything in the same place every year, I tweak all of it until Christmas Eve!) full mntl I won’t bore you again with the details of finding my Fontanini set in an unopened box at an estate sale, or how I found the Italian-made angels at a different estate sale.  (I’m just going to bore you with the pictures of this year’s mantel looking very much like the pictures you saw last year.)

Thanks so much for coming to see almost the same mantel this year that you saw last year!  Laurie

Laurie,
The mantel is wonderful. I am looking forward to seeing your Christmas decorating traditions again this year!

It'll be deja vu at my place too. For me, it's because I am cheap and slow with new ideas. For you it's because it's just wonderful so why change it??

I love that Fontanini nativity set. I mean... I seriously LOVE it. That's one of the two sets I would love to have. (The other is that elegant Lenox one).

Your place is looking lovely already. Please keep right on deja vuing. Yes, I know that's not a word, but you know what I mean. You inpsire me to do MORE.

Hi Laurie! Oh, your mantel is most gorgeous. I love your Nativity and I have a much smaller Fontanini version! You have so many pieces and the stall, is that what you call it, is so pretty! You always decorate so beautifully. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving.
be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Same or not - It is so pretty!. I tend to put decorations in the same place each year also. Now I just need to get it done for this year. :)

Me too, I keep it pretty much the same!
Love your mantel, and all your decorations.
I wish I had you decoration room/closet on the first floor! Dragging things up is a chore. Think I will pare down this year!

I've decided to just do a mini deja vu this year. We'll be doing some traveling and I don't want to come home and have to take down Christmas -- I'm trying to decide which three boxes I love the most. I do love the Christmas tour at your house! Have a most merry season.

Laurie, it was a treat to see your mantle again.
I can't believe how organised some of you ladies are, I haven't even got the boxes down out of the attic yet!

Well, I decided that this year, I am eliminating a lot of decorations. I am changing and simplifying...I must be feeling my age...

I'm back to see if I can spot the blonde baby Jesus.

And once again, I have decided that that nativity is one of the most beautiful ones ever.

Just had to say that again.

Mine are always the same too! I don't mind seeing them each year because yours are the best. I just put my willow tree on my mantel. I love the blue angel and the christmas tree!

Lovely!I think, it doesn't matter if you use the same decorations every year, as long as it makes you happy staring at it and everyone who comes over the house still adores it. LOL But I truly think it is very beautiful. :)

Maybe in the coming years, it will also be nice to add a little something, or just a little creativity, family and friends will like your decorations even more.
