A PICNIC IN THE COOL(er) WEATHER!

The temperatures in Arkansas finally broke. We are in the 90’s this week! It’s a real cold front! So, it seemed like a good idea to celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary outside.

We’re such old codgers, we’d rather cook steaks on the grill than go to the trouble of going out to eat at a restaurant! ovrhdsrvrs

The “After” (We don’t look like that yet! [@ 2019]) are French dolls that I wanted to buy at a recent estate sale. I couldn’t bring myself to pay the price they were asking for a couple of dolls ($80!), so I passed them up. My sweetheart stopped by on the last day of the sale (when they were marked down to $40) and bought them to give me on our anniversary!! I think I’ll keep him (heck, after 41 years, I might as well!)

Laurie, Happy Anniversary. Such a wonderful idea to stay at home and just enjoy each other and you set the most beautiful table. Your dolls are absolutely fabulous. What a special and thoughtful gift. I am so glad the weather is starting to cool. Not here. The heat index was 122 today. Sooooooo hot. I am so tired of it. Hope you have a super week. Hugs, Marty

Well, happy anniversary!! I'm a bit more prone to stay home than go out year by year, too.

I love your table! The prettiest part is the use of those trays as chargers. I noticed it right away and loved it!

But really, the whole blue and white table is just so pretty, and I love the daisies.

And the dolls! What a sweet thing for him to do.

Happy Anniversary!!! What a sweet hubby you have to go back and buy the figurines for you.
Your table is gorgeous.

Oh Laurie, How sweet of your hubs to know what you really wanted and then go get it for you.... I don't mind cooking us a special dinner for an occasion- I can't rationalize spending $75 apiece on a steak dinner- Give me a nice porterhouse and I'll grill it up on the Weber. I'll spend my money on a good bottle of wine, instead. Or maybe two... LOL
Happy Anniversary. I forgot to post our pics from ours three weeks ago. Oh well- maybe I'll have had my face and boob lifts by then, as well as the tummy tuck, and I'll look really good in those pictures!!! xo Sue

Happy Anniversary! When you can set a tablescape like that, why even consider going to a restaurant! It is way more intimate and relaxing to dine at home and grilling some steaks sounds perfect! Love the blue and white 'scape you created and the before/after pics are great! Your hubby is definitely a keeper to buy you those "old codger" dolls!
