CAN YOU BELIEVE LAURIE IS POSTING MORE RED, WHITE AND BLUE AND MORE MOSAICS?

Can you stand a little more of the red, white, and blue on my blog? AND, can you stand more mosaics on my blog? I'm thinking about renaming my blog "Mosaics with Laurie"! When I am preparing a blog post, I always think I'm not going to use mosaics, but as I've said before, my decor just looks better in snippets rather than showing the whole picture, so I go back to posting mosaics. For tablescape postings that probably do not contain mosaics, go to Between Naps on the Porch.

(I use Photoscape for mosaics)

EDITED TO ADD: Since I have had all of my dishes, etc. for so long, I don't remember specifics about where they were purchased. The two "quilt-looking" plates are china, and I do recall that the store where I purchased them was going out of business, and these were the only two they had left. They are made by Spode. The pattern is "Penny Lane", and on the back of one is "Patchwork 1", and the other "Patchwork 3". The dinner plates are just plastic plates that I've had for years. I don't think it shows in my photos, but on top of each patriotic dinner plate, I have a dark blue plastic salad plate. I think I got the lanterns at Hobby Lobby several years ago (of course they were on sale). The stemware is red and blue plastic that I think I bought at a flea market years ago. I purchased the placemats at Kohl's sale recently.

Thank you for joining me for a 4th of July picnic. Go to Between Naps on the Porch for Susan's link to all of the tablescapes. I wish each of you a wonderful holiday weekend. laurie

OK, let's have a little discussion here. The usually talkative Laurie is silent. I need to know about the dishes, are they paper, plastic, or china. Especially, tell us about the patchwork ones in the first mosaic. I really love your mosaics - I need to learn how to do those. Sally

Wow, I just bought some flags and paper plates w/napkins. Your displays are beautiful but where do you get the energy? I guess it's like my desire for Christmas ornaments. I have over 800 on my tree each year! It takes a good week to get it decorated.

Laurie, I don't care what you say about your "decorating being nonexistent", this is proof that you can match the best of them out there. This is one sweet setup! Love everything, but you know me, coveting those lanterns. LOL

As you can see I am catching up. I had one wonderful week and was busy, busy doing tons of things to the house. Now I had four grandchildren all week and again tomorrow, and do not know when they will get another sitter. I am totally exhausted, I get a bath and go to bed after they leave. Ok I washed my hair, after I get leave your wonderful blog I going for the bath and bed! I go to Doc on Monday, to see if I am ready for surgery, It might take surgery to let me get off my feet! lol I am hoping I can wait for a few months, I want so much to finish all I am in the middle. Can't do it with children. I know she has a sitter come August. Too far away! Hi Laurie, I also have to comment on the look of your photo collages. Your eye for design shows in the way you select the individual images, the relative sizes, the movement created by the way you arrange the shapes (creating the overall abstract design) -- sorry, too many words. Kudos for the creative and beautiful way you decorated for the holiday and for the artistry of your mosaics.

Thank you also for coming by to see my first try at a Thursday Tablescape.

Hope we'll visit each other frequently!

Laurie, the old child school desk, the top is painted white. I have two rooster placemats turned sideways on the table top. I do have roosters painted on the floor, and one rooster I cut out of wood and painted is hanging above the table. I change out this table ever so often and replace it with a big table.

I came back by to mention that I am hosting a Christmas in July Tablescape Party at my Playing Dishes blog. There will be one held each Saturday this month. Please come and participate or at least visit. A holiday tablecloth will be given away on the last Saturday, July 25. Info on signups is available by clicking my sidebar memes available on both my blogs.

I am also having a weekly Christmas giveaway at my Christmas Memories in My Heart blog. Weekly entries are closed out a midnight on Wednesday for this.

Hopefully some of you tablescape regulars will pull together a tablescape for CIJ or pull out some photos from last year to post.

Happy CIJ!

Thanks also for your mosaic tutorial. I like when someone puts it in terms that I can understand! I will have to try that program someday, maybe when I get my computer back.
