My grandchildren's dads had fun shooting fireworks under the pretense of entertaining their children, at least one of whom was covering his ears while screaming "I wanna go home"!
I hope everybody had a safe and fun 4th of July celebration!
Yes, our 4th was safe and fun! As I watched my son and son-in-law light fireworks, I was sure it was not going to be safe or fun--Forever the worried mother!
On the Fourth, I accidentally convinced my family that visiting blogs was a good thing! Among the foods I served, were several recipes from Blogville. I served Marinated Tomatoes (recipe from Mid Atlantic Martha), Baked Vidalia Onions (I'm sorry I failed to record whose blog featured this recipe-Please let me know if it was you, so I can give you credit), Strawberry Lemonade (recipe from Lace and Ivy Cottage), and Lemon Cream Berry Trifle (recipe from Kathleen Ellis Lifestyle Design). Since my friend, Susie, emailed me the recipe for Frozen Banana Salad, I kind of included that in the list of recipes I got from my computer! When someone raved about one of the delicious foods, I told them that I got the recipe from the computer. They gained a new appreciation for my blog visiting! Now, when I'm on the computer and they start rolling their eyes, I tell them I'm looking for recipes, and they stop the eye-rolling and smile at me! Thanks ladies. You may have helped me avoid a "computer intervention" by my family!

Fireworks are banned in our area, thank goodness! No more having to worry they'll blow themselves up anymore for me!

Your pictures are wonderful! That is the greatest camera. The shots are so fun. Whose place had all those lovely little tables set up like that? Your little grandbabies are adorable...what fun you had. Isn't blogging a great place for recipes...I DO so agree.
Sometimes I think people think I'm on here with some imaginary people or something. I am amazed at how many don't even know what blogging is...or how I have time to do this...but once I start telling them about my friends including Laurie in Arkansas *s* who had all this snow..and show pictures..and lovely collections and .... all the "evidence" that these people are real...*s*...and I've gotten to know them by "seeing" them most every day...they get very interested and they smile too...

Laurie - what a wonderful 4th at your house! (we're not surprised of course!) Love the mosiacs - I need to learn how to do those. So glad that my little tomato recipe could "help you out" (too funny!) You're grandchildren are so precious and you sure get my nomination for "Bestest of Grandma's"!
I love-love-love fireworks - but we didn't get to see any this year:( - we've made a pact to go to Charleston, S.C. next 4th with two other couples and see the fireworks over water (my favorite) - I agree with you about them being dangerous though - I only want to see fireworks that somebody I don't know is setting off - people trained and experienced. There was a horrible accident in N.C. -- a grim reminder of how dangerous they truly are.
