CHRISTMAS PLATES FOR EASTER -- (ONLY LAURIE)

I know this is the third tablescape in a row that I have said is a hodge podge (each one more hodge podge than the last). Do you think I'm trying to see how far I can go before ya'll beg our hostess, Susan at Between Naps on the Porch, to ban me from Tablescape Thursday? We all know Susan is much too kind to ban me, but please don't put pressure on her about it. I'll try to not be so hodge podge next week ... I promise!

In my last post, I said that I had been to some estate sales. Several people wanted to know what I bought that was so wonderful that I would risk life and limb (not to mention my sweet husband's life and limbs) by traveling on snow covered highways to go to estate sales. (Before that night was over, I was asking myself the same question.) I'm sharing a couple of my estate sale purchases with you in this tablescape. (I always feel like I need to put the word tablescape in quotations, because I really am not doing a tablescape - I'm just gathering things from around my house and putting them on a table and trying to make myself (and you) believe that I have done a tablescape!) I bought this vintage "gardening bunnies" tablecloth at one of the estate sales for $4.00. I thought I'd use it for an Easter tablescape. When I started trying out all of my normal, pastel Easter colors, they didn't work. So, I dug out the plaid Christmas plates again (I think I'm getting my money's worth out of these Christmas plates), and they seemed to look better--that is until I loaded these pictures and looked at them on this blog.
Since I began this blogging, I am amazed at how different something looks when I take a picture and then put it on a blog that anyone can come see. Somehow, the fact that I am going to share it with a bunch of other people just makes it not look as good as I had thought it did.

See all of those bright colors in this tablecloth? You can see why my pink florals didn't look good on it.

Aren't those little bunnies cute, tending to their carrot patch and their flower pots?

Each place setting is decorated with a bunny. I got this cute little ice-skating bunny at an estate sale Saturday. She's a "Goebel", and I paid $7.00 for her. Isn't she a cutie?

I have several small containers that have a bunny theme, so I've put them on the table. I'm serving baked potatoes with dinner this weekend, so I'll shred some cheese to put in this plaid bunny.

I think I'll put melted butter in this little bunny lady, who is supposed to be a jelly/jam server.

Ooops! When you get butter out, please be sure to replace Mrs. Bunny's head. It's kind of sad to see a decapitated Mrs. Bunny on the table.

I'm using china Easter egg halves for salt cellars.

Another "salt cellar" egg.

A bunny lounging in a head of cabbage will serve a vegetable.

My sister-in-law made this cute serving bowl for me.

When you go over to Susan's, please don't tell her that Laurie has done another hodge podge tablescape. If you won't tell her, I promise to try to have a very put together table for next week. (The key word in that sentence is "try"). Thank you so much for coming by to see my table. Be sure to go to Between Naps on the Porch to see all of the pretty tablescapes. laurie
EDITED TO ADD: I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I have the BEST blog visitors in the Universe! You are very convincing people! When I start reading your generous comments, I begin thinking maybe my tablescape doesn't look so bad after all! I can't tell you how much your lovely comments mean to me. I just love all of ya'll!

Laurie, This is NOT a HODGE PODGE tablescape!!! I'm in love with the new tablecloth & did you get a great deal or what! You're oh so right, the plaid plates are perfect with it. It's definitely not pastel. You have some amazing bunnies. If you wonder where some of them have gone in a few days, don't worry, I'm taking care of them for you! ♥ Diane

Those napkin rings are beyond cute! Maybe this weekend I'll decorate my table.

Your "tablescape" is too hodge podge Laurie! You're going to have to get rid of all those bunnies! And I don't think you have room for them what with all your other stuff so I'm willing to help you out and store them here! Especially that cute little skater! I collect bunnies you know so it wouldn't be that big of a deal to help you out here! LOL Oh girl, your "tablescapes" are beautiful and interesting! I love looking at all the beautiful items you grab from around your house and decorate your table with!! And I love bunnies! I think it looks like a Scottish easter table! Love Ya! God Bless! Lauralu :)

Can you set a place for me? The tablecloth is so retro! I like the covered bunny dish and I'm thinkin' the smallish bunny plate is Avon, since I have a trinket dish with the same details.

I love it, Laurie!

Laurie, I love looking at your tablescapes, they are so cute. I don't think of them as hodge-podge. Anyone who can set a table as cute as yours, is number 1 in my book. lol. I love the tablecloth with the bunny pushing the wheelbarrow, and then you have that bunny as a centerpiece. Pretty clever.

Hi Laurie:
Thanks for coming by tonight. I will go back over & check out Pat's "tv cave". Another blogger mentioned it to me. I did see her makeover, but it was so awesome, that I didn't even really pay attention to the tv hole. Now, about that vacation home. Never give up on that! I did the same thing before we bought our little place at the beach. It's almost entirely furnished with thrift. Didn't need alot when the time came! Now would be a great time to buy too, if you've got a stable job! :O) Not that you didn't know that!

Hey Laurie! I love this tablescape., and my favorites are when everything comes from different places., I guess I'm a hodge podge girl myself! ;) The little rabbits over the tablescape are so cute., love the little white cabbage dish with the bunny on the top. Also., I'm glad you enjoyed the FIBWOIF button! Enjoy it and allow it to give you the permission to break away in peace whenever you feel like it! ;) I've had a huge weight off my shoulders since I put it up already! ;) You are so sweet and I love keeping up with your blog., I'll continue to come back even if you are on hiatus for awhile...I have you on my blog roll and can see when you post! Laurie, I just found your FIBWOIF button on your sidebar and read your note below it......I LOVE IT! I'm so glad I can share this button to help just one more blogger feel the freedom I've recently felt., and you're so right, much of the time we are putting in is trying to get to all the other bloggers posts we love to comment. One thing I'm going to do is make a list of all the people I used to love visiting daily., and instead, visit their blog like once a week...then when I do, I can comment on all their posts at one time. I know it's not feasible for me to post on 50 different womens blogs each week...but I could probably do 2-3 blogs a day...and really enjoy what I read on their blogs and really enjoy the comments I leave them. That's where I'm starting anyway. HAVE FUN with this new freedom Laurie! ;) I'm sure many of your readers might see it and begin the same thing... ;) Ciao for now! ~CC Catherine
