I know this is the third tablescape in a row that I have said is a hodge podge (each one more hodge podge than the last). Do you think I'm trying to see how far I can go before ya'll beg our hostess, Susan at Between Naps on the Porch, to ban me from Tablescape Thursday? We all know Susan is much too kind to ban me, but please don't put pressure on her about it. I'll try to not be so hodge podge next week ... I promise!
In my last post, I said that I had been to some estate sales. Several people wanted to know what I bought that was so wonderful that I would risk life and limb (not to mention my sweet husband's life and limbs) by traveling on snow covered highways to go to estate sales. (Before that night was over, I was asking myself the same question.) I'm sharing a couple of my estate sale purchases with you in this tablescape. (I always feel like I need to put the word tablescape in quotations, because I really am not doing a tablescape - I'm just gathering things from around my house and putting them on a table and trying to make myself (and you) believe that I have done a tablescape!) I bought this vintage "gardening bunnies" tablecloth at one of the estate sales for $4.00. I thought I'd use it for an Easter tablescape. When I started trying out all of my normal, pastel Easter colors, they didn't work. So, I dug out the plaid Christmas plates again (I think I'm getting my money's worth out of these Christmas plates), and they seemed to look better--that is until I loaded these pictures and looked at them on this blog.
Since I began this blogging, I am amazed at how different something looks when I take a picture and then put it on a blog that anyone can come see. Somehow, the fact that I am going to share it with a bunch of other people just makes it not look as good as I had thought it did.
See all of those bright colors in this tablecloth? You can see why my pink florals didn't look good on it.
Aren't those little bunnies cute, tending to their carrot patch and their flower pots?
Each place setting is decorated with a bunny. I got this cute little ice-skating bunny at an estate sale Saturday. She's a "Goebel", and I paid $7.00 for her. Isn't she a cutie?

I have several small containers that have a bunny theme, so I've put them on the table. I'm serving baked potatoes with dinner this weekend, so I'll shred some cheese to put in this plaid bunny.
Ooops! When you get butter out, please be sure to replace Mrs. Bunny's head. It's kind of sad to see a decapitated Mrs. Bunny on the table.
Another "salt cellar" egg.

My sister-in-law made this cute serving bowl for me.
When you go over to Susan's, please don't tell her that Laurie has done another hodge podge tablescape. If you won't tell her, I promise to try to have a very put together table for next week. (The key word in that sentence is "try"). Thank you so much for coming by to see my table. Be sure to go to Between Naps on the Porch to see all of the pretty tablescapes. laurie

You may call it hodge-podge, but I think your tablescapes are so interesting, and fun! Also they are functional. It must be a ball eating at your house! I love all the colors! Love Ya! Connie
How cute is that? Your whimsical tablescaping is quite fun to see!
Martha
Laurie, This is NOT a HODGE PODGE tablescape!!! I'm in love with the new tablecloth & did you get a great deal or what! You're oh so right, the plaid plates are perfect with it. It's definitely not pastel. You have some amazing bunnies. If you wonder where some of them have gone in a few days, don't worry, I'm taking care of them for you! ♥ Diane
This is just adorable....I just love it!
This is the most creative table I've seen! Your re-purposing all of the bunnies and it works so well. Nice SIL to make you such a cutie.
I say "hooray for hodge podge" when it turns out as adorable as this! Those plaid plates were made to go with that oh so cute tablecloth...Love it all! ;-) Bo
Your table is so nice and bright, something different from the normal pastel Easter tables and I love it! It breaks the monotony. I am in love with your tablecloth and all of your bunny servers....so pretty and bright too. The plaid plates go perfectly well...Christine
Laurie this is adorable! The plates are perfect with the tablecloth - don't you love that you can get so much use out of them? All your bunnies are precious - I'm allergic to real ones (sniff) so I love to see these little guys on your table. Hugs, Kathy
Laurie,
This is outstanding! You've got to be kidding, your a master at putting these tables together. You make one of a kind creative tables and that's why they are so good! Love all the bunnies and the table cloth is a Wow. Cindy
I like it! That tablecloth is adorable and I like how you mimiced it for the centerpiece. The plates almost match the bottom of the one bunny piece. Girl...you want hodgepodge...you should see a regular dinner here with the grandkids. They want a certain plate, different sippee cups...etc! Now thats hodgepodge!
WOW! I would never think red plaid for Easter, but you did it!!!! That is a great table. I love the tablecloth and everything. No hodge podge, everything fits in beautifully! :D Jewel
Laurie, You are just silly, that table is too darn cute, you did a fantastic job! Those plates go perfectly in my book and if that makes me a hodge podge decorator, then so be it! Sue
You know I dont think this is hodge podge at all--its very nice! I can see why it was difficult to find matches with the tablecloth but you did it! I laughed at your comment about the decapitated bunny,,lol
Those napkin rings are beyond cute! Maybe this weekend I'll decorate my table.
You are right. Pastel would never have worked on that wonderful tablecloth. But I like this a whole bunch.
* I'll bet you could make a GUNNYSACK look STUNNING & STYLISH at a table, Laurie-girl! Your tablescapes are A-L-W-A-Y-S so UNIQUE, CREATIVE n' SO-DARNED-FUN, which is why coming here is ALWAYS such a DELIGHT!!! Killer tablecloth (ooooh, I shouldn't say that, since there are bunnies around, and I ADORE bunnies!)~~~ ALLLLL is just "UBER DELIGHTFUL"!!! Many thanks for taking the time to put this together so we could all ENJOY & "learn" too! HUGS! Linda
Your "tablescape" is too hodge podge Laurie! You're going to have to get rid of all those bunnies! And I don't think you have room for them what with all your other stuff so I'm willing to help you out and store them here! Especially that cute little skater! I collect bunnies you know so it wouldn't be that big of a deal to help you out here! LOL Oh girl, your "tablescapes" are beautiful and interesting! I love looking at all the beautiful items you grab from around your house and decorate your table with!! And I love bunnies! I think it looks like a Scottish easter table! Love Ya! God Bless! Lauralu :)
Can you set a place for me? The tablecloth is so retro! I like the covered bunny dish and I'm thinkin' the smallish bunny plate is Avon, since I have a trinket dish with the same details.
I love it, Laurie!
"Hodge Podge" tables are the best! Laurie, this is beautiful! I love it all.
Oh Laurie...you are so silly! It's just as cute as can be!! I love all of your bunnies. The plates are perfect with your cute new tablescape! You did a great job, Ma'am! Have a great weekend, too!...hugs...Debbie

Love your tablescape...I just love the tablecloth and those salt cellars are too cute! You are cracking me up with your "Christmas Plates for Easter." I love it!
Laurie, I love looking at your tablescapes, they are so cute. I don't think of them as hodge-podge. Anyone who can set a table as cute as yours, is number 1 in my book. lol. I love the tablecloth with the bunny pushing the wheelbarrow, and then you have that bunny as a centerpiece. Pretty clever.
Ginger
GM Laurie...girl you could't do a bad table if you tried..This is a fun table..nothing Hodge Podge about this girl...just darling..love all your bunnies here..BRAVO!! another great eye candy table..hope you have a great day...hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
What a find that tablecloth was. I never come upon any good stuff like that. Love that plaid bunny tureen. All of you bunnies are precious. I have the same problem w/ my tables because most of my bunnies are green/white, but my Easter decor is pastel. Good improvising! :O)
You are just so clever!
I love the salt cellar eggs...and the melted butter sever.
I also love loaded potatoes...what time's dinner? :-)
Laurie, I love it!!!
Laurie, I love this table! I have never seen so many brilliant colors used with the bunnies/garden theme, and it looks just smashing!
Fabulous. Cass
HI Laurie! Hey you are right..you had to use brighter plates with that tablecloth. It looks great...and we love hodge podge! Hodge podge often is dramatic, colorful, creative and better than ole' bland! Love all the bunny stuff too!
Blessings,
Debbie
I loved the bunny server...that is my favorite piece! The table looks really pretty...and you already know I'm a fan of those plaid plates!
Oh, you silly Laurie! We love you too and you do have the best goodies on a table as anyone. You keep tossing things on the table and we'll always come and look and I will covet and envy and be jealous and everything! ;)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Looking at the colorful border of your tablecloth, the red plaid plates work beautifully to highlight the red in the tablecloth. i enjoyed seeing all the bunny wares you integrated into your tablescape.
Your tablescape is so adorable. I love the woody bunny and wheelbarrow full of eggs. There was a lot to see on this table, definately kept me looking!
Laurie, what a great tablescape. I love the bright colors. I'm not much of a pastel person, even if I'm trying to be. I love all the bunny serving pieces, and the eggs as salt cellars is just the perfect tough. Great find on the tablecloth. Hugs, Marty
This is the second time I've seen those plaid dishes and I am still in love! I'd love to find some... Sigh...
Happy Thursday!
Actually Laurie, I think the table looked really nice. Who said spring or Easter tables have to be pastel. I think it gave a new twist to the Easter theme!
Oh Laurie..I love your table... everything about it...is just...ME! Love every little detail!!
Susan
Well, I must say you have the prettiest hodge-podges I've ever seen! :) Everything is lovely! My favorite is the rabbit tureen and tablecloth! LOVE the tablecloth!
I know what you mean about pics never looking the same as the "real life settings." Disappoints me a lot with my own posts! I want to say over and over, it looks SO much better in person! LOL! BUT I think yours are fabulous! ~hugs, Rhonda
I am lovin ALL your bunnies.... I have never seen one with plaid..... your dishes and cloth are perfect..... I agree with you when you take a picture of something it never quite looks the same as the real deal....

You sure have some great stuff and I like how you put it all together! I like this colorful Easter table :0)
In some quirky, crazy, wonderful way this entirely 'works!' Only you would have the talent (I do mean that) to put it all together.
Hi Laurie:
Thanks for coming by tonight. I will go back over & check out Pat's "tv cave". Another blogger mentioned it to me. I did see her makeover, but it was so awesome, that I didn't even really pay attention to the tv hole. Now, about that vacation home. Never give up on that! I did the same thing before we bought our little place at the beach. It's almost entirely furnished with thrift. Didn't need alot when the time came! Now would be a great time to buy too, if you've got a stable job! :O) Not that you didn't know that!
Laurie, I think your table looks great! I love the little bunnies.
~Bettye (Nina)

Okay I have to disagree with you here! I don't think it looks hodge podge AT ALL! I looks like it was all designed to go together! I love the look that you have achieved. Your bunnies are precious!
Job well done!! A+ : )
~Liz
Laurie, your tablescape is darling. I love all of the little bunnies everyone. I think the plates blend in nicely with the tablecloth.
You are so funny!!! Have a great weekend, Nicole.
Hey Laurie! I love this tablescape., and my favorites are when everything comes from different places., I guess I'm a hodge podge girl myself! ;) The little rabbits over the tablescape are so cute., love the little white cabbage dish with the bunny on the top. Also., I'm glad you enjoyed the FIBWOIF button! Enjoy it and allow it to give you the permission to break away in peace whenever you feel like it! ;) I've had a huge weight off my shoulders since I put it up already! ;) You are so sweet and I love keeping up with your blog., I'll continue to come back even if you are on hiatus for awhile...I have you on my blog roll and can see when you post! I'll be there friend! ;) Hugs! ~CC Catherine
Laurie, I just found your FIBWOIF button on your sidebar and read your note below it......I LOVE IT! I'm so glad I can share this button to help just one more blogger feel the freedom I've recently felt., and you're so right, much of the time we are putting in is trying to get to all the other bloggers posts we love to comment. One thing I'm going to do is make a list of all the people I used to love visiting daily., and instead, visit their blog like once a week...then when I do, I can comment on all their posts at one time. I know it's not feasible for me to post on 50 different womens blogs each week...but I could probably do 2-3 blogs a day...and really enjoy what I read on their blogs and really enjoy the comments I leave them. That's where I'm starting anyway. HAVE FUN with this new freedom Laurie! ;) I'm sure many of your readers might see it and begin the same thing... ;) Ciao for now! ~CC Catherine
