CHRISTMAS TABLESCAPES

On Christmas Eve, we serve dinner to the same family members who were here for Thanksgiving, so I set a lot of tables for both celebrations. Last year, the theme for the tables was Christmas trees and red plaids.

I’m running waaaay behind.  We host the same 30 family members for Christmas Eve that we host for Thanksgiving, and I only have one table set!  Where has the time gone?

CHRISTMAS TABLE-I’M A COPYCAT

When Cuisine Kathleen issued her challenge to copy a holiday table, I knew just the table I wanted to copy.  So, I hope that Susan at Between Naps on the Porch, thinks that it is flattering to be copied.  Don’t panic if you haven’t done your table copy for the challenge.  I’ve done it again!  I’m a week early with my copied table!

Are you ready for Christmas?  About this time every year, I start trying to talk my family into postponing our Christmas celebration.



I talk to them about how nice it would be to buy Christmas gifts when the stores weren’t so crowded.


I talk to them about what great gifts they would get if I could wait until the after Christmas sales to do my shopping.


I tell them that there wouldn’t be any problem deciding whether to have Christmas with the in-laws or with us.

They could go to their in-laws on Christmas day, and still have Christmas at our house several weeks later.

My arguments always fall on deaf ears, and I’m not counting on this year being any different. 


Ready or not, we will celebrate Christmas on Christmas day.

Update on our grandson, Cooper:  Surgery to repair his heart valve is scheduled for tomorrow.  It is so comforting to know that so many of you are praying for our little fighter.

CHRISTMAS TABLE

Right now, my priorities are my new 1 pound, 14 ounce grandson, who is in the hospital 3 hours away, and his sisters (age 6 and 9), who are staying with us.  If you visited my blog last year, I hope your memory is as bad as mine, because I am posting pictures of one of my Christmas Eve tables last year.

The centerpiece featured my cutouts of pictures of my grandchildren.

We are so grateful for all of the prayers that so many of you are sending up for our new grandson, Dylan.  He is definitely a fighter, and has had very few health problems (other than an extremely low birth weight).  I know that God is listening.  laurie
