BIRTHDAY PARTY TABLESCAPE

Birthday Tablescape-Bargain Decorating with Laurie

In my previous post, I shared our mantel decorated for a birthday party for four. Today I'm sharing our dining table for that celebration. There aren't many photos, because I ran out of time before the celebrants arrived.

We were celebrating our son's, son-in-law's, daughter's and daughter-in-law's birthdays. I started with yellow and blue print placemats.

It's hard to tell in these pictures, but I used dark blue glass chargers under the dinner plates (Royal Warwick, Lochs of Scotland).

Blue butterfly rings held the napkins in place.

I had a pot of flowers waiting to be planted in the garden. They fit great inside a gift bag to make a centerpiece.

I continued the blue and yellow scheme on the cake table.
Thank you for stopping in to celebrate with us.

I love the idea of a potted plant inside a gift bag for the table

Laurie, Oh you will never know I much I love this table setting. The yellow and blue ( a favorite combination for me) place mats with this gorgeous blue and white dish pattern. I also have used gift bags with plants for a centerpiece. Beautiful table and I'm sure it was enjoyed by all………..

I saw yesterdays post and remembered that we use to have neighbors that had 6 birthdays in the month of November. They had more fun than a barrel of monkeys and then suddenly it was Thanksgiving immediately followed by Christmas. I never knew they managed it all. So many of them are gone now and it is sad to think that I will not see those sweet people in this life. Whew this has been a busy time here though. My hubby and I celebrated our big one....50 years of marriage on April 3. Our daughter got married on April 9. Our son is being married on May 15. Boy did we get tag teamed! My mom will be 87 on May 23. I am still having a lot of activity at my dentist office. And!!!! today is acupuncture day for our almost 10 year old Springer Spaniel, Jubal.

Flowers in a gift bag - why haven't I ever thought of that? Your table looks so pretty, Laurie. You decorate so often that I have to ask.. do you cook all the food too? Seems like I'm always so busy cooking and obsessing that the table is an afterthought.

Thank you for joining Thoughts of Home today. :)

I've put flowers in a gift bag for a centerpiece too. It makes a quick, easy vase. '-)
Happy Birthday to the ones celebrating. Love the blue and yellow color scheme.

What a savvy idea to combine Birthdays, we have many children and I like this notion.

Blue and yellow is one of my favorite combinations. I am a bit late to the TOHOT party this week due to my college semester finals but I'm so glad that I didn't miss this. Have a wonderful week.
