OUTDOOR ANNIVERSARY TABLESCAPE

Outdoor Tablescape-Bargain Decorating with Laurie

Our temperatures have been great this week. Down in the mid to low 80's. Perfect weather for an outdoor dinner to celebrate our anniversary. You may have seen photos of my 60's hairdo in my wedding pictures in my previous post

I set the table by the pool, so we could listen to the waterfall. We had to ignore the dirt in the pool, because I didn't have time to vacuum it. I hope  you will also ignore the dirty pool.

I used my key napkin rings to symbolize the keys to my heart.

The salad plate and dinner plate are Paragon, England. On the bottom of the plates, it reads "By
Appointment to Her Majesty the Queen. Do you think Her Majesty might be shocked to see this china being used on those inexpensive, throw-away silver colored cookies trays? The flatware is Eternally Yours by William Rogers, which I obviously chose to use because of the name of the pattern.

The water glasses are Moonspun by Lenox, our wedding selection. The wine stems are vintage, and although they are the only things on the table with a gold rim, I used them because they have become our traditional anniversary toast stems.

The salt cellars are by Lenox. I put them on top of a little mirror to mimic swans, swimming on the lake.

I think I've mentioned before that I think my sweetheart married me because I was such a cheap date. When I told him that spending a lot of money on roses was a waste, since they don't last long, and that my favorite flower was a daisy, he knew I was the girl for him. He brought me these daisies for our anniversary.

Our wine is staying chilled in the wine bucket nearby.

And after-dinner mints wait for us in a sugar scoop.

Did you notice the beautiful outdoor pillows, which were a gift from my friend, Audrey? Yes, I said outdoor pillows. This is the first time they've been outside though. I've been using them in the sunroom, because I thought they were just too pretty to be used outside.

My computer went crazy when I tried to post a comment. I am trying again but hope you don't get two from me. Happy Anniversary!!! We just celebrated 41 on the 17th and it is so hard to believe. The time does fly. I loved looking at your wedding pictures. We have a thing about daisies too. Simpler times? Your table setting is so beautiful. Isn't it wonderful to use things that you chose so long ago that are now filled with memories? It is just perfect by the pool. Congratulations on your many years. Wishing you many more!
