Yes, I married my sweetheart 46 years ago!
I know that sounds like a looooong time ago, and I guess 46 years is a pretty long time.
But, I was a child bride. No, really, I was! That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it.
I fed him cake.
And he fed me cake.
We awkwardly attempted the traditional wedding toast.
And I still have the champagne glasses we used for that toast. I've displayed remnants of my wedding bouquet in the champagne glasses.
In the late 50's, it was popular to give a bride-to-be a wedding bridge party. I've decorated a wreath with some bridge tallies left over from some of the wedding parties my mother hosted.
It's usually wise for me to give my sweetheart advance notice of our upcoming anniversary. I hope he has noticed this not-so-subtle reminder.
Of course, the real metamorphosis is us 46 years later. Aren't you glad I lost that big flip in my hair?
Happy Anniversary to the man who is my best friend and is still my sweetheart. Thank you for coming to my anniversary celebration.

Happy Anniversary to you and your sweetheart, Laurie! You both look great. I. t00, was a child bride- really! Had to have a notarized permission letter from the court sent to Ohio from New Mexico before we could get a license issued to us. And this two days before the scheduled wedding. LOL
Oh Happy Anniversary!!!! Love your wedding pics and you are just as beautiful today.
Hi Laurie, Happyhappy anniversary. We just celebrated our 46th too and my headpiece was so much like yours. It was so much fun seeing your wedding pictures. xo
Happy Anniversary, you two lovebirds! 46 years! Congratulations, Laurie. You were definitely a child bride. We celebrate our 40th next Sunday. I've put together a photo book with photos of us through the years starting with our rehearsal dinner. Fun to look back at the young couple in the photos. '-)

Congratulations, and eerily enough, that church doorway looks like the church in which I grew up and my whole family (but me) was married in... St. Peter's Cathedral in Kansas City, Ks. Wow!
