UNCLE SAM for 4th of JULY

4th of July

Uncle Sam has invaded our fireplace mantel.  Actually, several of them are making an appearance.

I bought this cross-stitched piece at a yard sale years ago.

A dear blogger, Sarah at Hyacinths for the Soul, gifted me with several Uncle Sam figures a few years ago.  I love getting them out for patriotic celebrations.

Patriotic plates were purchased at an estate sale, and the tiles were purchased at a flea market.

I love this Uncle Sam with the funny face.

I am so excited to be participating in the Red, White, and Blue blog tour!  Bargain Decorating with Laurie will be one of the featured blogs on Thursday, June 12th.  Jen, Girl in the Garage, created this great graphic for our tour.

I love the red white and blue! What a fun blog party. You have so many wonderful unique pieces. I'm afraid my red white and blue will not be coming out in full flair this year as we'll be away during the 4th and are in the middle of remodeling our main floor bath.

Laurie, you know I'm excited to see this patriotic tour. What a great idea to get everyone in the mood for celebrating the 4th of July. Your mantel makes me want to stand and sing the Star Spangled Banner!
In love with that wonderful stitchery piece…..what a terrific find. Can't imagine someone selling it in a garage sale.
I'm off to see more red, white, and blue……Sarah

Now, how could I top this fabulous patriotic tour! I love the skinny Uncle Sams. I just have flags, plates and the right colors, but thats it! Difficult to find anything around here. I am an American too, you know!
Tks for the inspiration Laurie!

Your mantle looks so pretty, Laurie! I love how you've decorated it for the 4th. That cross stitch sampler was a nice find. I used to love doing pieces like that.

Wow Laurie the mantel looks fabulous! If that doesn't put a person in the mood I don't know what does! Looks like a fun blog party coming up!

Oh Laurie, you have such a great talent for putting together your finds and using them to decorate seasonally. I love all the components of your mantel, especially that piece of cross-stitch and those wooden Uncle Sams that Sarah sent you! You've inspired me to get started with some patriotic decorating!

HI I like the mantle display. I was wondering if you made the flag garland or did you buy?

Thank you, Karen
