Christmas Decor

Yes, there is a Santa.  As a matter of fact, at my house, there are a lot of Santas.  Today, I’m sharing some of the collection!  Yes, there are more of them.

Santa Collection

This collection began 46 years ago.  Two years before I was married, I found a Santa figure that I requested as a Christmas gift.  Since then, I have bought some on sale after Christmas; some at flea markets; and some at estate sales.

Santa Collection

You know how easy it is to buy a gift for someone who has a collection of anything?  When I had collected about 10 Santas, people realized I had a collection and started gifting me with more Santas.

Santa Collection

I have to admit that the collection is a little out of hand.  After removing all of the china from the hutch, I began cramming carefully positioning Santas in the hutch.

Santa Collection

When no more Santas would fit, I had to start putting them on the built-in shelves.  I’ll be sharing those on another day.

Santa Pitcher-Bargain Decorating with Laurie

I purchased the Fitz and Floyd Santa pitcher at an auction long ago.

This “nester” Santa was a gift from my brother-in-law and his wife.  They brought it from Russia about eight years ago.  When I opened the gift, I saw the line around his belly, and I heard rattling inside, so I thought it was a nester and began trying to pull it apart.  My sister-in-law said, “no, you’ll break it; it doesn’t come apart.”  My friend, who didn’t know that I’d been warned about it, opened it the other day.  Look at these charming ornaments that have been hiding inside for eight years!  That’ll teach me to listen to my sister-in-law!

It was great to have you visit.  If you aren’t experiencing a Santa overload already, watch for another post with more of my Santa collection!

Hilarious about the nesting Dzed moroz doll from Russia. My brother bought me this exact one in Russia and I opened it. I haven't put the ornaments on my tree but maybe this year!

I love Santa's also but I do not have near the number of Santa's that you have. You have a wonderful collection and I so enjoyed looking at them. Looking forward to seeing the rest of them.
Have a terrific week.

I'm a crammer, too. I'm really trying not to use it all this year. I love your Santas! The Russian Santa is my favorite. We got one as a gift from someone a year or so ago, but it was 'Made in China'.

That is some collection, Laurie! I have Santa figures too, but have given many of them to my nieces now that they have their own homes. I still have plenty! It's fun to see yours. I recognize some in your collection that I have. ;-)

Hi Laurie, your Santa collection is wonderful. I love how you have displayed them in your hutch. Each one so special. If Santa doesn't come to my house I will know he is cozy in yours. LOL
Thank you for sharing your collection and the awesome way you decorate with them too.
Have a great Monday.
Hugs, Celestina Marie

Wow you have a great collection! I was staring at each one enjoying their faces and outfits. That's funny about the nester and how she thought you shouldn't open it. Well you got a 2nd gift out of it now!

Eight years! I can imagine your delight! What a fabulous collection, Laurie! And a much loved one. It would be so much easier to keep them out all year but I'm sure it's fun unwrapping them and discovering them again each year.

Remember the years when crafters were making the beautiful St. Nicolas figures? My husband and I had the idea that we could do it so we started collecting all the fabric and doodads for the project. What stopped us was that the clay faces that we thought would be so easy were impossible for us. All of our faces looked like perverts.
