SNOW BIRDS MINUS THE R.V.

Snow birds have landed on my mantel, and  I’m soooo glad they aren’t the kind of snow birds who arrive in a recreational vehicle, because my mantel is kind of small!

No, I’m not still showing Christmas décor on my blog.

It’s just always a shock to my system to go from Christmas décor back to every day decor, so

I make the transition slowly.

That’s why you are seeing my Lenox Winter Greetings plates, faux snow, and snowy trees on the mantel.

I’m just trying to minimize the shock to my system.

We won’t talk about that it allows me to delay packing up a few of the Christmas decorations.

Yikes!  A lot of packing up Christmas is going on, and it may be going on for awhile.  I’m moving kind of really slow this year.  Can you believe I just showed you that picture?

Our grandson is still having good days and bad days, so please keep Cooper in your prayers.

Love you blog. I have always wondered not only from you but all the bloggers with the lovely tablescapes and decorations, where do you store everything? Inquiring minds want to know.

Well I did far less this year because I did not want to pack it away and it might have been up until March because, we are snowbirds, complete with RV :-) and will be departing in about a week if the weather holds for parts south. So, getting a look while we are still home and admiring your ambition with all the decorating. Lovely stuff all of it!

I love your song bird plates and that wonderful nativity scene with so many figures to it, on your mantel. Happy New Year from one bird and Christmas lover to another.

The mantel looks great Laurie. I love the bird theme. I have a mess too but don't think I will share it.

Laurie, your little snow birds make me smile. I didn't put out my snowmen this holiday, so I think they will come out to play for January. It is a shock to pack it all away.........and a lot of work. ;-)

Those plates are so pretty Laurie! I hate going from Christmas back to normal so I enjoy a few birds in my cubbies! I'll share those soon!

I love your mantle Laurie.. I took down everything early but kind of redid the front porch for the winter season. A little snowman theme thing going on. :)

I love that Lenox pattern, Laurie! It says winter without shouting it out. :-) I'm glad you kept it real and showed us the room in its transition stage. I was too afraid to do that. I had 40+ bins and boxes all over, garland strewn, pine needles on the floor, dust bunnies scampering around it all! LOL
Hope Cooper rallies and gets much better. xo Sue

First - Your Grandson is definitely still in my prayers. I always look forward to seeing what you do with your decorations. I need a good dose of your talent and motivation.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

I loved seeing your snowbirds mantel. And your keep it real photo still shows that your room looks warm and welcoming. I understand the need for transition. My rooms look so blah right now, not at all the look that many bloggers have achieved this week since Christmas. I've really got to work on that next week.

Thank you so much for putting Zachary on your prayer list. I will let you know when my sister tells me more as they know more. Cooper is still in our prayers and that name has become precious in my thoughts.

The Nativity is what the season is about and your display is beautiful. We INVITE Santa to come to our house and yet my 1977 manager scene is my favorite thing to get out of my umpteen bins. My best friend gave me the first three pieces and we added to it for the next five years. Your 'disassemble' looks as bad as my house right now! It is so sad...I leave snowmen up for January.

I agree the house always seems so empty when my Christmas decorations are put away...such a good idea to leave a "little winter" out to enjoy!

I really like your post Laurie. I am loving everything I saw.

Still praying for Cooper, hoping he'll be better soon, so you can play with him. Also praying for your entire family's strength and guidance.

For one thing, I think the snowbird theme for January is inspired! I love the idea, and it IS a great transition. For another... thanks for keeping it real. I need to know that it's as hard to put it all up for others as for me.

My grandmother used to say, "Pains to be beautiful". I think it applies to prettying up the home too!
