WHERE IS MY BRAIN?

I have been in Blogville for about 16 months, and I have never participated in Rednesday sponsored by Sue at It's a Very Cherry World! As much red as I have in my house, I am shocked that I haven't participated in all of this fun. I don't know what I've been thinking, but my brain finally kicked in, and today I am participating!

Apparently I was having trouble locating my brain when I did a post last week too (that's happening to me more and more these days). Last week, when I was sharing some of my children's dishes, I showed you how the dishes were displayed like a parade. I forgot all about this bowl I had in a cabinet in the kitchen that is a children's bowl AND a parade of red pigs...

and the mug with a parade of red animals encircling it. Although this bowl and mug look like Pyrex, they have no markings on the bottom. I am also showing you my rooster juice glasses (just because they are red and are in the same cabinet with the mug and bowl!). I love my vintage apple shelf paper given to me by my friend, Charlie Ann.

My last contribution to this week's Rednesday is a coin operated fire truck ride. Yes, this is in our house! We were on vacation when we spotted this outside a grocery store with a "for sale" sign on it. I don't know what possessed us, but we did a lot of haggling, and came home with this very heavy ride! Our grandchildren love to put a quarter in and ride it. (No, I'm not making money off of my grands. I provide the quarters.)

Don't forget to go to It's a Very Cherry World to link up with all of the red in Blogville today. Thanks for coming to see a little bit of the red in my house today. laurie

Laurie, I had no idea when I stuck that invite in my back pocket, you would be using that pic on your blog! {{{Blush}}}

Your grandkids must have a blast at Grandma's house! A firetruck ride. In the house! My favorite red though is the rooster juice glassed, because I have them too! They were my Grandma's, and I remember having my orange juice in one every morning when we were visiting!
Happy REDnesday!
Carol

I've had something I've been meaning to post for Rednesday for the past couple of weeks and it just keeps slipping up on me.

I do just love, love, love that parade of red pigs.

Laurie, I love the red piggy parade. If that wouldn't put a smile on your face every morning, I don't know what would. And the fire truck ride - that is just way too much fun. I bet the grands have a blast at your house! Kathy

I love all your red, especially that fire truck ride. How many gramma's have a ride at their house like that?

Why, Laurie, what a pleasant surprise! I'm so glad you joined us today because I love all your stuff, and now I get to see your red stuff, too!

Parading pigs? I'll believe that when I see them fly!

I'm coming over for a ride - will bring my own quarter! LOL!

Lovin' all your reds. :-)
I used to have some little red rooster juice glasses just like those, and small hands somehow broke them all. Wish I still had some. I love your little dancing pigs. CUTE!
Your grandkids must be the only ones in the world with a grandma who has a ride at her house! How lucky.

So happy you shared these darling dishes. I'm amazed at all the treasure that live in your home. And yes, I'll put the button on my sidebar. Meant to do that earlier. Thanks for the reminder. Looking forward to the party!

The pants are tight but I managed to zip it up. There was even a little space for the invitation in the back pocket. I want to ride in your red firetruck, can I, Laurie. I have lots of quarters. How fun can that be? I wonder if it will move if I put my weight in it, lol. You have the most unusual pretty stuff....Christine

Hi Laurie, I knew you would have red in your house because you are so cheery and red is the cheeriest color of all. I read your comment on my blog and had to smile. I read an article about Mary Emmerling tried to do her beach house sparsely and in 6mo she had all the things she loved around her. That is how it should be, never apologize for what you like, that is what make YOU so special to everyone. Love Ya,Kathysue

What pretty reds Laurie. My goodness I bet your grandkids love to come and visit you. Shh, don't tell mine what you've bought yours!

Are you ready for this blast of cold, snow, ice and rain? Not me that's for sure.

Hi Laurie,
Awesome pics again! I love the vintage red apple paper and the piggie bowl, just so vintage! Your grandies must think they are in heaven when they come to your house! Just the coolest thing, I want to be your grandchild! LOL. I know, I'm too old. Oh, and the deer, yes hubby counted 14. We live in the deer capital of Wisconsin. Way more deer than people! Hugs, Cindy

What cute dishes. They make me want to march around the kitchen! When I first looked at the fire engine I thouught it was a cookie jar on a counter! LOL! I think it's great that you brought it home. It's something your grandkids will never forget.

Dawn

Just about everytime I read one of your posts, I see something that reminds me of something my mother had (or an aunt or my Gram or the next door neighbor). Back then it was just stuff, now it would be treasure! Funny how everything old is new again! Gee, that sounds suspiciously like a song!! :)
