OH NO! ANOTHER COLLECTION!

For Tablescape Thursday, I have set the table in my sunroom. During the holidays, my sunroom is the snow people room. Yep! It's ANOTHER one of Laurie's obsessive collections! Again, if you are extremely bothered by clutter, you'd better not look any further at this post! It could be very dangerous to your health (we're talking about your mental health here!)

Yes, I even have snow people salt and pepper shakers! (I know, I have a problem!)

The mittens that hold the flatware are tree ornaments that I found at an after-Christmas sale years ago. I've had the snowmen place card holders for too many years to remember where I got them. You have probably seen my "napkin under the glass plate" trick before. The dinner plates are Fitz and Floyd Country Plaid, which I purchased from a gift store that was going out of business years ago. My sister gave me the stemware for Christmas one year. I think the napkin rings were from Pier One.

I used a Christmas tree skirt as a table cloth, and since my summer-looking lamp seemed out of place, I put it in a snowman gift bag. Can you see the little snowman candle lamp next to the sofa? I purchased that last year from Lynne at Lynne's Gifts From the Heart. I also purchased a couple of other covers for it, so I can use it year-round.

When I was a child (many, many long years ago), Mr. Bingle was at the Lowenstein's store in Memphis during the holidays. My friend, Susie, made me that cute Mr. Bingle cutout.

There are obviously some snow women in my collection, because I know they are making babies in my holiday closet. There seem to be more each year!

The snowman-in-a-jar light is another of my purchases from Lynne at Lynne's Gifts From the Heart. Lynne and I both have a "thing" for snow people. I think Lynne is just smart enough to keep her males and females separated, so she won't end up with as many snow people as I have!

I'm so glad you got here before all of the snow people melted in my sunroom. Don't forget to go over to Between Naps on the Porch to see a lot of wonderful tablescapes.

A NOTE ABOUT ANDREW: Some of you have been so sweet to send get well cards for me to mail to Andrew. I'm not sure that you are all aware that Andrew is no longer in pain. His beautifully whole little body is now skate-boarding in Heaven. If you would like to send a sympathy card, I will be glad to forward those to his family. Thank you for sending the get well cards. I'm sure they brightened his days.

Thank you so much for coming to visit my blog. laurie

Oh Laurie,

Your amazing in so many ways and if I could do clutter like you do clutter I would be a very happy woman. I love your snowman room and I'm sure everyone who visit heads straight there.

I have been trying to find an old Christmas edition of my mothers Seventeen magazine just like you McCall's, they are so beautiful to have out at Christmas time.

It looks like your all set for Christmas, I'm not, I'm way behind this year and it's been so hot that I just can't seem to do much. It's 7 am and I have a long list of things to do today, but the nice thing is it's raining outside, mmmmmm a little cooler.

Have a happy day,
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Coty

Love your collection of snow people. I just have one question. Where do you keep everything? You've got to be so organized to find it all each year.

Mellodee said...

Hi Laurie! I was just sort of wondering if you...uh...maybe I could...uh...you would let me sort of...borrow your house for my Christmas Party? No matter how hard I try, my place never looks as good as yours! So it would really impress my friends to gather at a home that really GETS Christmas. Hmmm, actually, I guess using your place wouldn't be such a good idea after all. No, the carnage would be too awful to behold (my friends can be a bit, well, shall we say, rowdy!) Thanks anyway. Never mind....
