SPECIAL PRAYER REQUESTS

I know that most of you already know about a couple of special prayer requests that are being sent out across our little corner of Blogville. I just want to try to spread the word that our prayers are needed now, more than ever, for our brave Amy.

My heart ached after reading Sherry's blog (Country Wings in Phoenix), and learning that her sister, Debbie's (There's An Angel on My Front Porch) daughter, Amy is now in critical condition. Please pray for Amy, Debbie, Amy's father, Sherry, and the rest of this precious family, as they walk this difficult journey.

I'd also like to request special prayers for our dear friend, Ann at Life at Ann's Place, as she faces a lengthy and difficult surgery on Tuesday.

I know that non-bloggers can't possibly understand the pain and the concern we feel for people we have never met. I have begun to think that the fact that we haven't met makes these fearful events even more difficult.

How I would love to be able to hug these wonderful people when I tell them that I am praying for them. I want to be able to look them in the eyes and tell them how special they are and to let them know how much I care. I feel that my attempt to convey those feelings through a typewritten comment on a blog does not come close to letting them know what they have come to mean to me. In situations like this, we usually feel helpless even if we are right beside the person who is walking a fearful path, but we can at least hold the friend and give them a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen to their fears.

Amy, Debbie, Sherry, and all of your family, know that we are praying and that we are hugging you and we hope that you can feel our love through our typewritten words..

Ann, know that we are praying for you as you go to Houston for your surgery, and know that our arms are wrapped around you in love, and we hope that you and your family can feel our love.

If you haven't met these sweet bloggers, please go meet them now, and let them know that a lot of people are thinking about them and praying for them. These are some of the sweetest bloggers I know, and both families need all of the love and prayers that I know you wonderful people can give them.
Amy , Debbie, Sherry, and their families at Country Wings in Phoenix
Ann and her family at Life at Ann's Place.
Thank you so very much. laurie

Laurie--You are so sweet to get the word out. I hope that Amy Debbie, and Sherry can feel the power of prayer. I have had them on my mind so much. I do not "know" Ann but will add her to my prayer list. Sunshine's assistant starts radiation this week but she is hanging in like a real trooper! I'm glad you liked my $10 word for Cheez whiz and Ritz crackers! :) Hope you are having a great weekend!

Laurie, I think you are one of the nicest and sweetest bloggers I know and you seem to bring us altogether. I will pay these gals a visit, as I don't know them yet.
Thank you for the prayers for my niece and her family, when their home burnt down. They were fortunate to find a furnished rental house about 5 miles from their home, to live in as their home is being rebuilt. They are doing good. I haven't been able to find out how the 4 kids are doing that lost their mom and dad in the accidents, but in their dad's obituary it listed 8 brothers and sisters he had, so I feel that one of them is looking after the kids. There was another lady that I prayed for that lost her hubby (right in front of her eyes) that was pregnant at the time of his death...she has had her baby and is now doing a commercial spot for Farmer's Insurance about his death. www.taranewby.blogspot.com

Laurie- Isn't it wonderful that we can be a small part of so many lives - even those friends who are so precious to us though we have never met like ANN. Prayer is such a wonderful privilege and we will be praying!

I was so blessed to have so many praying for me just recently and know how blessed I felt to know so many cared!

Hi Laurie,
Sherry has been so wonderful at keeping all of us aware of Amy's progress. You said it so beautifully when you said how close you begin to feel with your blogging friends. I woke up this morning and thought of Debbie and Amy. I imagine that years ago when people had pen pals it was the same way. Writing I think reveals the soul, and that is what blogging is about.

I will stop by Life at Ann's Place. My favorite book of all time is 80 Charring Cross Road. And the sequel Dutchess on Bloom Street. In the book Helen Hanff describes the characters becoming so close although living across the pond. That is just the way blogging is. I think if I walked into a crowded room, I would find you Laurie. You are such a lovely person.

Laurie!
I just wanted to take a minute and thank you for being a prayer warrior for Amy and our family. I cannot begin to tell you the lifelong connections that we have made and will continue forever from all of the wonderful prayer warriors who have come to our rescue. There is only one of me, but with the rest of you praying also, God has heard us loud and clear. He has also heard Amys mind and heart, and he knows she wants to be here working for him. She has things left to do here, witnessing to other terminal patients that through God anything is possible. Thank you so much for the hugs, the love and the prayers, and yes I have felt them. Being so far from home, and having nobody here I cannot begin to tell you the times I have sat down at the computer to write, even in the middle of the night, to pray, and I have asked my blogger friends, Marydon are you there? Jennifer are you there? Jamie are you there? Michelle are you there? Rebecca are you there? Gloria are you there? Penniwig are you there? You know what, the funny thing is? They would have been woken up out of a sleep, would come to the computer, and I would see a response: Yes, I am here. God is so wonderful. He has never left me alone. He has given me so many of you. I now know why I was meant to start this blog, just a few short months ago. I believe I have been blogging now for about 4 months. God knew what was coming down the road for me. Debbie has always said I have a gift of words, I don't know if that is true, but I so love writing for each of you my sister bloggers. When Debbie told me the candle was going to be out for awhile in her blog and that I would have to carry the torch, I thought she had lost her mind. I told her you have always been the one to lead the prayers, not me. I don't think I can do this. She told me, yes I could and was the only one left to do it. It has kept me busy and my heart full. I just thank you so much for all of the extras that have came with this gift of sharing. I have learned to weep, I have learned to open my heart, I have learned to pray, and I have learned that I AM PRETTY. Thank you so much for everything Laurie. I so love you all. Country Hugs and Love, Sherry

Sweet Precious Laurie, After I read your post....I layed hands on Amy's and Ann's name on the monitor screen and prayed for them, and tears welled up within me. You are a precious friend to share these needs with us and I will continue to lift them up...I've written their names down separately so I can remember them throughout my days ahead. I hope you and your family are doing well... Each day we have is a blessing. And after reading your prayer requests, it just hits home even more at how blessed I am, even though our family is still walking through some terrains, we are still so very blessed! Hugs Friend! ~CC Catherine

Many thoughts and prayers go out to these families and all of the families you have listed on your blog.

I just wanted to THANK YOU so much for taking the time to send Susan and Michael a beautiful butterfly for Allie's 1st birthday memorial. I was just able to read all of the photo comments (without crying) and I saw yours. I was SO touched to see your name. I am also very appreciative that you put their button on your blog and added them to your prayer list. Your thoughtfulness is so appreciated and will not be forgotten!

You are an angel!!
