LET THERE BE WHITE (AND NOT A MINUTE TOO SOON!)

I have had huge problems getting pictures to upload on my blog this week. I had already done my photos for the white party, and I was DETERMINED to get them posted. Even though I am a day late to the party, I wasn't going to completely miss it. (Don't you just love that kind of guest who shows up really late for a party?) If you missed the party too, go to Cuisine Kathleen to see all of the "Let There Be White" tablscapes. Thank you for sponsoring this Kathleen. I'm so sorry that I am so tardy for the party! I'm sure I've missed all of the fun.

(I use PhotoScape for my mosaics)

Please join me for a little fruit and wine picnic. (Nobody else will - it's way too hot!)

Don't you love that I've used a little umbrella to shade the fruit? Of course, since it's faux fruit, it probably doesn't matter if it gets sun on it! It's 100 degrees here in Arkansas. There is no way I could get my husband to go out and have fruit and wine in this heat, unless he was laying on a raft in the pool, and I was feeding him grapes, and as much as I love him, I will not be doing that! So this is a faux picnic. (I did have some real ants attend though--I guess my faux fruit fooled THEM).

My sweet son brought this bunch of flowers to me from his backyard.

If you are late to the party too, be sure to go to Cuisine Kathleen's to see some wonderful white tablescapes to welcome summer. Thanks for coming to my blog, even though I was late to the party. laurie

This is beautiful Laurie. Love the photo with the pool in the background.

After seeing all the wonderful white tablescapes, now I REALLY want a set of white ironstone! My poor cabinets are almost to bursting, so I have no idea where I'd put them, but I want them! ☺ diane

GM Laurie, Thanks for stopping by I really look forward to hearing from you. You know I had the same problem you did with the photos, so I was a couple days late getting my post done....I love your photos of the picnic. Now I wish I had kept my set of white ironstone dishes. :)

Hugs,
Chris

I'm glad you made it to the party. The white is supposed to relay summer. I think you did a wonderful job. An outdoor picnic is so summery. To bad that it was stinking hot the day of your photo shoot.

Haha, you didn't have to tell us it was fake fruit, I would never have known! I'd like to jump into your pool right now, it looks so inviting. So Arkansas is having weather like CA. My son in Dallas says it's hot there too. Guess we're having a heatwave!

* Dear girlfriend~ I have missed a few days worth (and YOU!), & when I "arrived" just now, I was coming IN from being OUT in OUR POOL for a few minutes (cuz in the Tucson area it's 105 today... twenty minutes out there, & you've got a nice, toasty glow to the tan! Any longer would probably be 3rd degree BURNS today!)... SOOOO, seeing your pretty pool-side setting is a LOVELY, COOL & SPECIAL TREAT! Thank you!!!

And BTW, what SUPER-DUPER MOSAICS you've created (!), and NOTE: Jim, too, likes Yellow Tail Merlot! (I spied it "peeking out"!)~

Gonna go and "back-read" all I've missed now, as I actually have the TIME to e-n-j-o-y it!!!

Love, thanks n' warmest hugs,
Linda *

Yup, this post sure need to be posted and it doesn't matter if it's late :-)

Ok, I won't imagine that it's too hot and just savor all the wonderful things displayed :-) Now, I have to say that the lace umbrella is such a darling! Don't they have something larger for us? LoL Kinda reminds me of those old movies where ladies use them. :-)

Hi Laurie :)

I always have so much fun catching up with you. I swear you could just write a post without pictures and it would be funny, but you are an excellent (yet humble) decorator and I love that about you too :)

Gorgeous picnic!

Laurie, please give your vapid comments a rest. Just because your family tunes you out and ignores you shouldn't mean the rest of us have to put up with you.

Oh Laurie, So what if you're late! You showed up and that is all that matters. Sometimes the most fun guests are the last to arrive because they're just so busy with all of their other friends. LOL
This white picnic is beautiful and so appealing. Clever little addition of the umbrella over the fruit, too! :-) Sue
