RED WHITE AND BLUE ALL OVER

Remember when I posted the vignette of dogs (here)? I've added some red, white, and blue to that vignette.

LIGHTER AND BRIGHTER FOR SUMMER

SUMMER VIGNETTES

With just a few changes, I've brightened some of my vignettes for Summer. This table is next to the fireplace in our family room.

FROM TRAY TO COFFEE TABLE

DECORATIVE METAL TRAY

I love the last hour of the last day of an estate sale. That's when I bought this giant metal tray. (To be honest, I bought it 15 minutes after the estate sale's advertised closing time, when everyone was ready to lock the door and get out of there, leaving as little merchandise as possible.)

SPRING VIGNETTES

Wishing you a wonderful Memorial Day.
Blue and White Birds for Spring

I recently told you I was having health issues, and my posting might be sporadic for awhile. This is a re-post from 2014 of Spring vignettes on the buffet in our family room. You may remember I told you that while I was preparing the original post I realized that almost everything on the buffet began with the letter "B" (birds, books, blooms, blossoms, and blues and even buffet).  A spotted blue glass bird sits in front of a flower pot painted with blue blooms.

DUTCH DECOR PLAYS WITH FRENCH DECOR!

Dutch Decor-Bargain Decorating with Laurie

Some of you may remember that I have a "thing" for Dutch décor. There is no explanation for my love of all things Dutch. I am just charmed by Dutch images.

PLAYING WITH VIGNETTES

VIGNETTE 1

I was creating a little Springtime vignette on a table in the sun room when I realized that I never grew up. I still like to play with miniatures. This picture made me think of gardening.

The cottage of content.
I love anything that depicts a cottage or a village.  Since I can’t afford large French paintings, I recently purchased the two very miniature French paintings.  They were the inspiration for a “cottage scape” on the sideboard behind my sofa.  My friend, Susie, knowing that I love cottages, blue and white, and poetry, gifted me with the sweet little plate that I hung on the lampshade.  It provided the poem for my post.
Thank you for stopping in at my cottage of content.  laurie

Yes, I’m an old lady.  If you’re too young to remember this song (Let me Tell Ya Bout the Birds and the Bees), it was a popular song in the 60’s, recorded by Jewel Akens.  Thank you for visiting my blog (young and old alike).  Laurie
