In a recent post, when I shared the “Fall”-like china set that I had put on the buffet in our sunroom, I told you that I had rearranged the sunroom and would share that soon.  Photographing our sunroom is difficult, because it is long and narrow.

It is filled with light, which also makes it difficult to photograph, and since it’s in my home, it is also filled with a lot of “stuff”.

Birds and flowers are everywhere.

Several readers asked about the color on this buffet.  I’m sorry, I don’t know the color. A couple of years ago, I ordered it, in this color, through One Kings Lane.

My sweetheart jokes that bargain furniture finds me.  Once, when we attended an outdoor concert, I came home with a vintage sofa, and he said he was sure nobody else at that concert came home with a sofa.  Another day, I went to the grocery store and came home with two chairs I bought from the bed of a pickup truck that was in the grocery store parking lot.  When I told the driver that I liked his chairs, he told me he was taking them to his daughter’s so she could sell them at a yard sale.  I said, you need not drive any further!

That’s why it didn’t surprise my sweetheart when I went to get a hair cut and came home with this toile-upholstered chair.  I spotted it in the back of my hair dresser’s vehicle on my way into the shop.  When I asked her about it, she said she was taking it to a consignment shop.  Of course, you see the evidence of what my reply was!Sunroom-Bargain Hunting with Laurie

This table and chairs are what caused the entire room to get rearranged.  When we have 30 guests for holiday dinners, I seat eight people at this table. I’ve always had to move furniture around, so the table isn’t so crowded.  I have now arranged it so that we can seat eight without having to move furniture for Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.

This loveseat is a rocker, and it was in our home when I was growing up.  My sweetheart and I shared many kisses while sitting on this loveseat, and I was even sitting on it when he proposed. It’s a piece of furniture that is staying with us.  When I rearranged this room, the blue buffet traded places with this loveseat.

You really can’t see the loveseat in this photo of the proposal.  You’ll just have to trust me when I say I am sitting on it. At that time, it was upholstered in a nubby green fabric.

On the other side of the loveseat, this “ship’s ladder” leads to a small office, and causes problems with furniture placement in this room.

On the opposite side of the ladder, there is another small seating area, along with a desk where I occasionally sit to write.

At the risk of this post being too long, I have to tell you about my Red Goose shoe display that I bought at auction and shared in a previous post.  When we attended the auction, I knew that American Pickers had been there before the auction.  When I saw the televised segment, I was so excited to see that the Pickers bought two of these Red Goose displays and paid four times what I had paid!  Then, they said they would double their money on them when they sell them.  That’s when this Red Goose display, which I had put on the back porch, came inside to live in the sunroom!

I’m trying to anticipate a question.  Ten years ago, my sweetheart and I stained the concrete floor in the sunroom and in our family room (before I had even heard of blogging, so I don’t have a tutorial for it on my blog).

Thank you for joining me in the sunroom today.  laurie

I have a number of botanical and bird pictures on the walls of our sunroom.  I really should not attempt to take photos of glass covered pictures in our sunroom.  Please excuse the reflection in the glass.

I really should have taken a picture of things I propped in the windows to try to reduce glare on the glass.  It would have given you a good laugh.  Obviously, my preventative measures were unsuccessful.

The framed Cardinal and Blue Swallow were from another estate sale.

The last two, depicting Dogwood blossoms, but by different artists, were purchased at a charity art show 30 years ago.

The next piece of art can be seen through our sunroom windows (when there isn’t any glare-reducing poster board propped in them).  God’s springtime art:
