TEEN BIRTHDAY DINNER

This is a re-post of a birthday dinner for my granddaughter last year.

Beachy Birthday for Teen-Bargain Decorating with Laurie

My oldest grandchild was 15 years-old when I set this table. In a few weeks, she'll turn "sweet 16". How did she get this old? (What I'm really asking is how I got this old.)

Last year, for her birthday dinner, I did a beach-themed tablescape.

I used sea shell "plates" for the rolls and a pat of butter.
Glass Fish-Shaped Snack Plates-Bargain Decorating with Laurie
Fish-shaped snack plates I bought at an estate sale held boiled shrimp, and another sea shell plate held red sauce.

I used glass nautical-themed plates as service plates under the shrimp cocktail. , I used glass nautical-themed plates. I bought these at Tuesday Morning years ago (Lynn Chase).

Shell-shaped Dinner Plates-Bargain Decorating with Laurie

Home Studio, Shoreline Collection dinner plates were a sale purchase from Kohl's one time.

The goblets were an on-line purchase. The dots remind me of fish bubbles.

Napkins in Sailboat fold-Bargain Decorating with Laurie

I folded the napkins to look like sailboats. I first used this "sailboat" napkin fold in a post in 2013. You can find the directions here.

The "trees" are planted in starfish shaped cups.

The ruffled baby blanket is supposed to resemble the whitecaps of the ocean waves.

While the birthday girl opened gifts, I got the table ready for cake and ice cream.

When they came back to the table, flip flop placemats topped by beach chair dessert plates (L. Goldinger & Co.) were awaiting the girls and the cake.

Thank you for coming to sail the ocean with us.
If you've read my recent posts, you know that I am having a blip in my life's journey. I will be having surgery Friday (June 10th), and I'm asking for your prayers. Thank you.

Beautiful table setting. I love your dishes. I have never seen napkins folded like that, how clever. I wish Crepe Myrtle would grow where I live, we are just one zone too cold. Your dining chairs are gorgeous as well. Hope you are doing well. Thanks for this lovely post!

All these dishes would work very well on my table when we have a fresh out of the water seafood dinner. Birthday girl was indeed lucky to be so treated.

Get that surgery behind you and restore your health. I claim it for you. If we do not hear from you for a little while, we will know that you are resting and recovering well from your surgery. Wishing you the very best results and praying blessings for your surgeon and nursing staff so that they can anticipate your every need before you realize that there is a need. I pray for sensitivity for all of your caretakers. Let them pamper you a bit.
