This little 4th of July vignette contains some interactive elements. Our grands love to put on star beads to celebrate. Unfortunately, they also enjoy driving us crazy twisting the sticks on these drums, making the attached balls on strings hit each side of the drum over and over and....
The vignette includes a patriotic plate I bought at a flea market one time.
I found the wooden flag at Hobby Lobby years ago.
Two decks of playing cards are ready for game playing.
I guess I'm a glutton for punishment, because I've also displayed a vintage toy drum (from an estate sale). I'm sure the grands will be "making music" with it too.
Last year I got these fun striped flowers at Dirt Cheap.
I hung an Uncle Sam tag from the vase.
I'll let you know whether or not our eardrums survive the drum "music" on the 4th.
Thank you for visiting me.
A big thank you to all of you who've been praying for me. I still need your prayers. I'll be having another little surgery on July 6th.
I’m partying with Met Monday at Between Naps on the Porch, and Inspire Me Tuesday at A Stroll Thru Life.

Hi Laurie, I love how you use your patriotic collectibles to make this vignette. You always find such sweet items at sales. I love everything patriotic, the drum, flowers and plates. The Spirit of 76 is my favorite, love that. Good luck keeping this in place when the grands arrive :)
Have a wonderful week leading up to the 4th. Hugs……...
Loving your patriotic vignette. Plus also the way you talk about your grand kids....Something tells me even though the noise may be kinda loud, ya miss it when they leave. LOL
Such a beautiful and patriotic vignette. I love the Spirit of 76 plate. I hope that you have a Happy Fourth of July!!!
I love your beautiful displays. I will keep you in my prayers. Sorry to hear you are having another surgery. I hope everything goes well.
I love the paper flowers, so right for the holiday!
I did not know you had requested prayers, Laurie, but I'll tell you a little secret... in my morning prayers daily I ask that all requests of my fellow bloggers be granted... and I'll remember you by name tomorrow!
As always, I am lifting you up in prayer. I will also pray for your surgeon and the staff to be very tuned into you during your recovery and that they anticipate your every need before you even know what the need is.
As for your vignette, it is just perfect, as always. I no longer scout for new things to add to my home (well, not nearly as much as I used to) When my hubby goes fishing next time, Im going to run on down to Carytown ( a particular section of the city) and I will stop at the Christmas shop. She has stuff for every holiday.
