My sweetheart is one of the luckiest people I know. His luck has become so well known that people in our area ask whether or not he's bought a raffle ticket before they decide whether or not they should buy one. Of course, I keep telling him that his first stroke of luck was marrying me!
In 1993, the National Wild Turkey Federation raffled this restored 1970 Ford Bronco. They sold tickets all over the country, and my sweetheart bought one ticket. A year after buying that ticket, they drew his name as the winner! He's won many raffles since then, but other than winning me as his bride, the Bronco is his biggest win.

We went to a fishing pond, and I set a Fall picnic on the tailgate of the Bronco.
Stop laughing at my wildflower centerpiece. Okay, they are laughable. I cut them on the way to the picnic spot, and they were dead before we got there.
I pulled out the Christmas décor to take on a picnic. I used plaid placemats to cover our place setting baskets. Individual vegetable casseroles stayed warm in cassolettes, covered with a plaid napkin.
Lunch was packed in my vintage plaid picnic basket.
I took a coupe of Fitz and Floyd Country Plaid dinner plates to the picnic.
I even pulled out the paid Christmas napkin rings.
Our plastic wine stems feature a fish as the stem.
Ladybug salt and pepper shakers also came to the picnic.
The container behind the bread held fried chicken.
Just for looks, I even threw in a couple of faux apples. Since my flowers died, it's a good thing I brought the faux apples. I wouldn't want to be without some décor at a picnic, because you know my sweetheart really cares about that. (Okay, all he cares about is the food, but I can't help it -- I'm a blogger.)
What a perfect time of the year to enjoy being outside.
I hope you enjoyed coming along on our picnic. Thanks for joining us.

What a fun afternoon that must have been. That little fishing hole reminds me a lot of my dad. He would get up way too early for anybody else just to wet a line I certainly hope that you enjoyed your picnic.
What a sweet picnic! And your hubby scored as well. Both with you and the bronco. Love old Broncos.
Wow...nice prize and perfect for a picnic trip! You make me want to go on a picnic so badly!!! TFS
This is a wonderful picnic from the Bronco to the setting to that wonderful plaid!
