BACK-T0-SCHOOL TABLESCAPE

Back to School Tablescape-Bargain Decorating with Laurie

Each year, I have a Back-to-School dinner celebration for our school-aged grandchildren. (You can see my fireplace mantel back-to-school décor here.) This year, for the first time, they will all be attending the same school.

Their school colors are blue and gold. I didn't have a solid blue table covering. I remembered one of the felt pieces we use for one of the Wise Men in our nativity pageant each Christmas. So, they will be dining on one of the Wise Men's robes! A gold napkin, centered on the table, provides the gold color. I used my Vietri plates and topped them with gold ball fringe edged blue napkins. Chalk boards serve as placemats.

Since she brings good luck for the school year, our "back-to-school fairy" presides over the table each year.

Each student will take home a bundle of pencils and a sharpener.

My mother's Language book seems like an appropriate addition for a back-to-school table.

Oh Laurie. How creative I love this! I wish there was pinterest when my kids were young! I would have been so creative! I am a good copier. I love what you've done. The napkins are so cool. I love it all! I love the vintage books tied with ribbon.
You've given me some great ideas. I am thinking a Horse Show tablescape kind like a Derby party but for Horse Show Season. My daughter has a collection of Vintage horse books. I buy one every Christmas. I'll have to borrow them. Thanks so much for linking and letting me see you Fabulous Party. I was just close down the computer because I got a goody box from my DIL. I can't wait to post about it. Bye Bye for now. XXOO

How wonderful that your grands are close enough to have a BTS party for them. I love that you tied your mother's language book with a bow to use as part of the tablescape. The blue and gold in the table decor is perfect to celebrate "the learning season". These kids will be thinking of you and maybe creating a back to school table someday when they send their own children back to school in the fall. Have a wonderful week.... Candy PS: Stop be to visit me this week, I am celebrating my second blog anniversary with a fall table linens give away and would love for you to have a chance to win.
