PATRIOTIC TABLESCAPE

Red White & Blue Tablescape-Bargain Decorating with Laurie

I recently went to Sur La table. Of course, bargain hunter that I am, I headed straight for the sale racks.  I found four of these shirt striped placemats and four red napkins to bring home with me.

I used rattan chargers under my Moda Home melamine plates.

In case someone gets patriotic and wants to sing the Star Spangled Banner during the meal, I tucked a flag into each napkin ring, so we could wave them in the air.

Red wine stems and cobalt goblets serve the liquids at two of the place settings.

At the other two place settings, I used cobalt wine stems. I only have three of the red stems and three of the cobalt stems. A bargain hunter often finds an odd number in a set, because they are less expensive when one gets broken and is no longer a full set.

Are you familiar with Dirt Cheap stores? (Doesn't that sound like a store where I'd shop?) I found a bouquet of these red striped flowers on the twenty-five cent table at Dirt Cheap. I cut the blooms apart and put one in each of three milk bottles. The wire basket was a purchase a few years ago. It held three flower pots with faux rose buds.

Can you see the red glass "jewel" in the center of the flower? Isn't that fun?

I hear that the Farmers Almanac has predicted rain for the Fourth of July this year. I sure hope they got it wrong this time.

Thanks for dropping in for a visit. Now, let's all sing the Star Spangled Banner together. (I'll just wave my flag. Believe me, you do not want me to sing.)

This post is partying with  Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch.

At first glance I thought those flowers in the centerpiece were fireworks! This is so fun and patriotic!

I also went to Sur La Table! I'm impressed their products! Those flowers are so cute- and quite the bargain! I looked at the long term forecast and we may be having rain too. Perhaps it will be brief and move on. Let's hope!

Very pretty Laurie. The table is fun, colorful and so patriotic. I know your posts are also being stolen by that thief. I hope you are reporting him as well. I have tweeted to his managing team @RoundTeam, filed complaints with Godaddy and more.

Laurie, Very pretty! And patriotic too! I love the red check border on the Moda Home Melamine plates, they look so good with the blue striped ticking and the new red napkins. I have already pinned a few pictures on my Fourth of July Board.
