DINNER IN HOLLAND

Dutch Theme Tablescape-Bargain Decorating with Laurie

I bought those $5 potted Tulips for Easter.  One Tulip has sort of survived.  (There were two tulips when I started setting the table, but one of them fell apart before I took pictures.)

This single almost dead surviving Tulip inspired my Dutch tablescape.

I don't have knowledge of any Dutch ancestors, but I've always been drawn to the charm of anything Dutch.  I bought this flatware at Kohl's years ago, and I don't remember the pattern name, but I haven't ever seen it there again.

I've had the cobalt blue glass chargers for a lot of years. I bought them at one of those kitchen outlet stores.  I used Myott Finlandia dinner plates for chefs salad.  (That was inspired by leftover ham from Easter.)  I've collected these dishes everywhere (estate sales, junk stores, and a yard sale).

I used vintage cobalt blue water goblets and wine stems that belonged to my mother.

I can never resist a Dutch scene trivet tile, so I had enough to use one at each place setting for a coaster.

The "zout and peper" shaker set are marked "Holland".  I bought them at an antique store.

I used Myott Finlandia mugs to serve two kinds of salad dressings.

I lined this vintage tin with foil, so that I could serve crackers from it without worrying about the rust that was inside!  I ordered it from an Etsy a few years ago.

The lonely Tulip is in my Mother's pitcher, which depicts a kissing Dutch couple.

These shy (I guess they're shy, because they won't look up at the camera) Dutch figurines also belonged to my Mother. (Maybe she's why I'm drawn to Dutch things.)

I also ordered this vintage table topper from an Etsy several years ago.

I'm so glad you came by to take an imaginary trip to Holland with me.

What a wonderful collection of pieces that are perfect additions to your table. Using the trivets as coasters is clever.

Hi Laurie, what a beautiful spring table and nothing is prettier with yellow then blue. Love your dishes and the designs are stunning. The shakers are too cute. I have the smaller blue and white dishes too and love them.
Thank you for sharing a gorgeous look!
Have a nice weekend.
Hugs, CM

Laurie, I gasped when I first saw your table - it is gorgeous! You know I love blue and white and this blue and white tablescape is exceptional. No small credit goes to the cobalt blue charger plates and the lovely blue and white flatware from Kohl's. The Myott Finlandia plates and the blue and white print tablecloth are perfect for a Dutch themed tablescape. I just adore all of the Dutch accent pieces that you have used to complete your tablescape. Bravo!!
