SUMMER TABLESCAPE STARING “B”!

Summer Tablescape 1

It’s official.  I’ve gone batty!  If you’re thinking the same thing, go ahead, say it.  No, you really don’t have to confirm it in your comment.  If you read my previous post, you know that I’m stuck on the letter “b”.  It started with birds, books, blooms, and blues in my previous post, and it has continued into my tablescape today with birds, blues, and browns.

Summer Tablescape 1a

The dessert plates on this table are “Bird Toile, Elizabeth Trostli for Andrea by Sadek”.  I ordered eight of these on an on-line sale several years ago. There are four different bird patterns on these plates, but for this table, I somehow ended up pulling out two that are the same, so the fourth pattern isn’t shown.

Summer Tablescape 2

About ten years after we were married (when I was beginning to get a little tired of our two sets of china we had selected for wedding gifts), I selected this china and asked that it be birthday and Christmas gifts for me until I had enough to use.  The back reads, “Hand Painted, France”.

Summer Tablescape 3

I used my white metal charger over a brown metal charger.  When I decided to mix browns with blues on this table, I really wasn’t thinking about the word “brown” also being a “b” word, so I’ve ended up with another tongue twisting post – Batty Blogger Blogs about Blues, Browns, Birds, Blooms and Being Batty!)

Summer Tablescape 4

I used my Mother’s silverware.

Summer Tablescape 4a

I liked the contrast of these formal, shiny napkins with the twig napkin rings, which make me think of bird’s nests.

Summer Tablescape 4b

Speaking of our wedding selections, these Lenox Moonspun stems were one of those selections.

Summer Tablescape 5

This is when I confirmed that I’d gone batty. After setting the table and taking pictures, I got to thinking that I had recently posted another tablescape with a mosaic of these plates I was using for bread and butter.  So, I went in search of the mosaic to use on this post.  Well, duh, Laurie – a few short months ago, you posted almost this exact same scape!

Summer Table 5a

How embarrassing!  I used these plates for the salads on a table several months ago.  Under them, I used the same dinner plates and the white metal chargers I’m using today, and I see the same brown tablecloth showing under those place settings!   You may have thought this was a re-post of a recent tablescape, but I have to tell you that it isn’t.  No.  I re-set an almost identical table and didn’t even realize it!

Summer Tablescape 6

I probably used my fat little blue bird salt and pepper shakers in that previous scape too.

Summer Tablescape 7

Before I could put blooms in the urn, this bird made a nest in it.  I purchased this pretty bird from Lynne’s Gifts from the Heart, and since I really like it (and since she’s green, which doesn’t start with a “b”), I’ll let her nest on my table.

Summer Tablescape 8

Thank you for coming by to see my table (which, I promise, is NOT a repost of a previous table, although it may appear to be!)  laurie

This post is partying at  Centerpiece Wednesday at The Style Sisters and Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps on the Porch.

Laurie, each one of your bird plates is full of charm. I remember the brown toile plates. I fell in love with them at first sight. The French plates are no less as charming. Love! I say your table is full of B for Beautiful!!!!

Love your table! And you're NOT batty: I believe it's a tablescaper's quirk that we tend to like a certain combination of things and find ourselves repeating the look! Love your table, by the way!!! Rosie @ The Magic Hutch

I think blue and brown is just so lovely with its inherent nod to nature. The toile plates are wonderful!! Nicely done... :-)

Laurie, I love all of your bird dishes. The brown on white toile plates are charming set on the lacy white charger. The urn centerpiece, the twig napkin rings, and the brown tablecloth are all lovely additions for a perfectly "B"eautiful nature influenced tablescape.
