OUTDOOR ISLAND WITH POTENTIAL

Outdoor Island 2

Recently, I spotted this homemade kitchen island at a yard sale.

Outdoor Island 3

I wanted to buy it to use it in our backyard.  The seller had built it, and was understandably proud of it.  It is well built and very sturdy.

Because I didn’t want to offend him, I ended up paying $40.00 for it.  (He started out at $60.00.)  I’ll eventually be painting it, but for right now, I’m enjoying just using it.

I plan to use it as a serving table and/or bar when we host a backyard party.

Outdoor Island 4

So, someday, the wine rack, which now holds flower pots, may hold bottles.

I think I’ll probably add a window frame or something on the back of it, but for right now, I’m enjoying using it as is.

Are you with me on this?  Do you think it has potential?

Thank you for reading my blog.  laurie

I’m partying with Met Monday at Between Naps on the Porch and Inspire Me Tuesday at A Stroll Thru Life, and Home Sweet Garden Party Tuesdays at Creative Country Mom.

I had something similar to that years ago and I paid about $400 for it, so you got a good deal. I think it has a lot of potential.

Absolutely! I love the idea of adding a window frame, that would look great! That was really a bargain price, go wild and have fun!

I think it was a great find. Things here in Indiana have been pricey this summer I have noticed. So 40 is a good deal! I would love for you to share it at this weeks Home Sweet Garden Party! http://creativecountrymom.blogspot.com/2014/07/home-sweet-garden-729.html

Hi Laurie, what a great yard sale find. Great price as the granite top alone would be more then that. It looks perfect for garden parties and yes has wonderful potential with the ideas you have for it. What a great piece for entertaining or a potting bench. Love it.
Have a wonderful day!
