DESPERATELY SEEKING SPRING

Spring Decor

I know you are just like me – desperately seeking Spring.  I’m seeking, but I’m sure not finding it outside.

Spring Decor

Yesterday, I had hope, but today, we are having a cold, windy, rainy day, and a chance of snow is predicted for tomorrow!

Spring Decor

No, I haven’t moved.  I still live in Arkansas!

Spring Decor

So, I’m strolling around my house, with the heat still running, looking for Spring anywhere and everywhere.

Spring Decor

I am so sorry for those of you who are accustomed to having this kind of weather, and worse, in mid-March.  Spring Decor

I apologize for my complaints, and I’m sure you’re thinking I’m a big wimp.  But this is not normal for our part of the country, and I want temperatures to agree with the calendar.  I promise, I am not going to complain about it being hot this Summer.

Spring Decor

I may have been feeling a little too desperate when I started tying Spring-colored ribbon on everything on the buffet in the family room.

Spring Decor

Spring Decor

I’m feeling a little warmer already – just looking at bird and flower décor!  (I’m easily influenced.)

Spring Decor

I even had to take some of my photos with the overhead light turned on, because it is soooo dreary outside.

Spring Decor

Can you see the baby birds in the nest on the tag?  Doesn’t that make you think of Spring?  Now, if I can just get the weather to cooperate with me, I’ll be enjoying the outdoors any day now!

After all of my complaining, I need to share a little sunshine with you.  (Get it?  I’m still trying to convince myself that the sun will come out.) I’ve been working on my sweetheart’s campaign for pubic office, so I am feeling very grateful that we no longer have to lick postage stamps!  Thank you for your visit.  laurie

This post is partying at Met Monday at Between Naps on the Porch, Inspire Me Tuesday at A Stroll Thru Life, and Seasonal Sundays at The Tablescaper.

Hi Laurie, Love your touch of spring décor. Your new header and accents are gorgeous.
You are certainly not a wimp. This is very unusual year for us here in the south. I don't ever remember such cold days this long into the season.
We had a beautiful day Saturday and Sunday was like the dead of winter again. Not sure how my garden is going to do after all this cold.

Anyway we are all searching for spring and your post is inspiration for pretty days to come hopefully soon.
Love the little birds on the eggs under the cloches. I need to paint some like this.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
XOXO

Well I'm one of the long enduring sufferers that are used to March being miserable, but I'm so over winter I could scream...It has been a desperately long winter for all of us! Those little spring ribbons look like a nice way to remind yourself of the time of the year that it really is (or should be). It reminds me of tying a string on your finger so you won't forget!! Oh I bet in two weeks you'll be very springified in Arkansas! Hang in there baby!!

Hope the rest of the campaign goes well. (Unless what you mean is that the campaign is over already and he won. If so... wooo weeeee!)

I feel the same way about the game of hide and seek spring is playing with us this year. I promise not to get angry if you remind me how much I longed for warmer weather come August. I'm sure I'll be whining then. I always do.

I love your bird themed schtuff. When I get home for a pair of days, I want to drag out some of the same.

I love your touches of spring. Your ribbons are a great way to usher in spring. i too feel like like I'm humoring myself by coaxing spring along.

Always wonderful to have you at Seasonal Sundays!

Such a sweet post, Laurie, and I do love that tiny bird under your cloche! Cold weather is returning to Georgia next week - strangest year ever. Usually, it is already hot here! I would love to write that I will not complain about the heat this Summer, but I know I will!!!

I had to laugh when you said you were getting so desperate that you were tying spring ribbon to everything. This has been a very long winter and spring just doesn't seem to want to get here!! Hopefully if we decorate, it will come!! I do think self adhesive stamps are one of this centuries greatest improvements!!! here's to the sunshine!!
