CHRISTMAS TREES

Christmas-Bargain Decorating with Laurie

We decorate two trees for our family room.  This year’s trees are skinnier than the trees we have had in the past, so a lot of our ornaments didn’t make it out of the boxes this year.

Every year, the theme for our trees is the same -- “hang whatever you find in the ornament boxes on the trees”.  (In other words, there is no theme.)

I’m having fun with the G+ twinkle light feature.

I already shared our mantel decorated for Christmas, so now, I’m sharing a little Christmas décor on the hearth.

The burlap and pine cone reindeer are the only new purchase this year.  I found them at a discount store, and I decided they needed to come home with me.

Christmas

Until I got ready to post these photos, I thought I had taken a picture of the entire top of the buffet behind our sofa.  Apparently, I never got the full length of the buffet in a picture.

Christmas

I also forgot to light the fireplace for any of these pictures.  Okay, I’ll admit that, somewhere along the way, I seem to have also misplaced my brain!

Christmas

You probably knew about my brain long ago, but were too polite to tell me.  Or, did you tell me and I’ve forgotten?

This reindeer and sleigh belonged to my Mother.  This year, it is delivering Christmas trees on a side table in our family room.

Thank you, Silvia. If you upload a picture that (with lights in the picture) to G+ photos, it will add the twinkly feature to your lights. If you upload a picture with snow in it, it will add falling snow to your picture. So much fun!

One thing is true and for sure. No one will ever be able to miss a holiday at your house. I love how you go all out. Christmas is a lovely one to cap off your year of decorating. I'm chuckling here because I hardly have room for one tree in this old house.

Beautiful decorations, Laurie! And I whole-heartedly subscribe to your "theme" for decorating Christmas trees. My kids and grandkids would be disappointed if I went with a themed tree without our familiar and beloved (and it must be admitted, somewhat bedraggled) ornaments.

OH Laurie,
That looks so beautiful~!
Just stunning!
And those deer, what a great find, I want some now.
Your home is as pretty as a picture.
Love the twinkling lights you found too on G+, I guess I need to upload my Christmas tree pic.
Hugs friend,
Cindy

Beautiful Laurie! I love the twin trees! I enjoyed looking at each picture. I would enjoy absorbing all this with a little egg nog and brandy!

Laurie, how beautiful! And I didn't even miss the fireplace being lit because of the twinkling trees! Google+ added snow and twinkles to some of mine but I have no idea how to add it to the blog. I must admit that I don't even know what to do with Google plus. I keep adding friends to my circle, but then what? I know, I should be googling this and find out instead of asking questions!

Wow! Your room! So many lovely treasures and such a warm glow. I want to sit in that striped chair by the hearth.
