Our breakfast room is difficult to photograph in the best of circumstances, but my camera broke, and I am using my daughter’s camera. My camera and I had learned to get along with one another, but I haven’t developed much of a relationship with my daughter’s camera, so please excuse the pictures.
The yellow plaid placemats were still in the package when I bought them at a yard sale years ago. I have again used my black and white polka dot melamine plates (Moda Home) that I bought at Tuesday Morning.
On top of that, I’ve used an orange and white polka dot salad plate (Bistro Collection by Amici) and a white leaf-shaped salad bowl (Clay Art).
I used my metal jack-o-lantern napkin rings to hold the black and white polka dot napkins. I used a mixture of orange and black handled flatware.
See what I’m talking about? This salt cellar and pepper shaker, and the little sauce server are orange pumpkins. My daughter’s camera made them look like pink tomatoes. I know—I’m the one who set the settings on the camera, but I’m tellin’ ya, this camera is not my friend. I bought this little set at an antique store years ago. The only mark is a “made in Germany” stamp.
My witch plate (yep, she’s got a BIG bum) is Quimperware from France, which I ordered on-line a few years ago.
Witches (with even bigger bums and beer bellies too-I don’t know why those brooms don’t collapse under their weight) fly along the border of the tablecloth, which I’ve probably had for about ten years.
At one end of the table, I’ve used some more Halloween décor. The vintage looking black cat is a reproduction, gifted to me by my friend, Susie. I have a tiny lamp behind him, and when it’s on, the cat face lights up. I couldn’t take a picture with the light on (because this camera is not my friend).
My sincere apologies for my feud with the camera. Hopefully, I’ll have a more friendly camera soon. It was good of you to stop by. laurie

Love this post!
Fun table for two, Laurie! I like the polka dots!
Laurie, I love your Halloween table for two! I love all your dishes, but specially the polka dotty ones, and the witch plate and black pumpkins...adorable! Hugs,
FABBY
I have never seen a witch plate before...and look at those little ghosties around the edges! How neat is that? Love taking photos of a table set for two. That's what I should do to join in. We never set a big table any more. Love your cute things. I want a new camera, too! I've been fighting with mine! lol
Love your table, Laurie! I keep forgetting how much I adore black and white and orange and checks and polka dots!
So cute!
Know what you mean about the camera. I need to get another one or learn how to use the one I have. :(
Laurie, tables for two are perfect for around here. '-)
Cute details, and of course the Q witch plates is the best. The witches around here packed my set in the picnic basket and flew off for a early evening soiree. They'll be featured soon. '-)
Thanks for sharing your charming table. Love the vintage pieces and the backdrop of Quimper. ~ Sarah
Everything looks so cute and I am cracking up over the camera not being your friend. You did a great job with it.
What a cozy little Halloween setting Laurie! Love your fat witches on the tablecloth! I also love your black and white pumpkins!
Jenna
Judging from what I've seen you are a Halloween kind of gal with so many fun things to play with. I get the picture even if you were working with another camera!
Hi Laurie, Your table for two is so inviting and cozy. Love all the darling treasures to view while you enjoy your meal.
You create the best table settings.
Hope you get your camera on your side again, but till then, you still took the best pics!
Hugs
I love your table! How great to sit and have coffee in the morning at such a cute setting! I am not huge on decorating for Halloween, my children tend to obsess on things and that is not a great holiday for that, but I love the vintage holiday decorations! Somehow they seem more friendly and funny.
That unfriendly camera may not have cooperated, but we know what you meant for it to do. And the table is adorable, each piece on it. I love the little German set. I wonder what kind of sauce would people have used it for? Being German cuisine, maybe mustard to go with good German sausages?
Is Santa going to bring you an early Christmas present? One that is friendly?
Your table is very sweet. Sort of the softer side of Halloween. Hope your camera issues are solved soon.

Well, I am "sold" on this table! All you had to do was use the polka dots!! Seriously, all of your Halloween pieces are so cute! I do feel your pain, about the camera. I have so much trouble shooting in my dining room. I have a really nice camera that I use rarely, but I am thinking of buying another one. However, it will probably take me years to figure out how to use it - ugh!
Beautiful table! I love that witch plate...
Laurie this table turned out spectacularly! I love the base of the polka dots - so fresh and unexpected on a Halloween Table. Your bits of sparkle here and there make it so fun. And the bright bright oranges really pop! Great job.
I had to come back and comment! While waiting for TT to open up I had some fun looking at your sidebar - your home is beautiful and so fun to see so much of it too. I loved your "How have you collected so much" - For a pack rat - you know how to pick through and keep amazing things. Everything you decorate is so tastefully put together. Thanks for sharing that fun post.
I love the table, love all the dishes with the dots, they really are so fun, I think you are getting the hang of this camera, the pics look great and of course all of your wonderful Halloween pretties, I love them tucked away everywhere, just waiting for their turn to come out...
This is such a fun table. I love the vintage pieces and love the polka dots.... Candy
What a fun table for two. I love your leaf plates...stopping in from Tablescape Thursday.
I love all the dotted plates and tablecloth too...Christine
Laurie, great tablecloth...and I want you to know I have ridden my broom for many years without it ever collapsing!
Love the polka dotted plates and napkins.
Have a wonderful week...
I love my little point-and-shoot camera and if it ever breaks I'm going to cry. She and I are good friends. I love your table! I want that checked pumpkin! Love it! There a French sensibility that is threaded through your entire table and makes it unique. Wonderful job!
A big bum is not all she has, lol, and I am not talking about her broomstick!
Love your polka dot table for 2, very colorful! Love that pumpkin too!
You mean you are supposed to adjust the color settings? If it isn't on the automatic mode, I have no idea what to do! :)
