FAUX PUMPKIN TABLESCAPE

Normally, I think of gold when I am setting a table for Fall.

Fall Table-Bargain Decorating with Laurie

Last year, after Thanksgiving, I bought two mercury glass pumpkins on sale, and they made me think outside the box about this table.

In addition to the mercury glass pumpkins, I was inspired by my velvet pumpkins made my friend, Susie.

I am so fortunate to be one of the people that Susie gifts with these pumpkins.

Aren’t they gorgeous?  I elevated them on a mirrored silver plateau that I ordered from an Etsy a couple of years ago.

The mercury glass pumpkins inspired me to use my square silver-colored chargers that I bought at Tuesday Morning about three years ago.

I got the etched glass bowls at an estate sale a couple of years ago. I previously posted this oh-so-simple recipe for Laurie’s Soup, which is what I served in these bowls.

These salad/dessert plates that I used as a server for the soup, came from One Kings Lane last year. I’m always looking for china with silver on it.  (Wedgwood, Vera Wang’s Vera Lace)

Most rimmed china has a gold rim, but this dinner  plate, which is the pattern we selected when we got married, has a silver rim.  (Lenox Moonspun), and it is the reason I look for china with silver on it.

I used Eternally Yours flatware, because it is the only silverware set I have that has soup spoons in the set.

We also selected these water goblets (Lenox Moonspun) when we got married.  The pineapple etched wine glasses were a wedding gift that came with a matching decanter.

I used silver monogramed napkin rings that I ordered from an Etsy last year.

I bought eight of these napkins at an estate sale one time.  I paid $10.00 for all eight napkins.

I served dessert in silver champagne goblets that were another wedding gift.  When I saw the simple recipe for Grilled Bananas Foster on the blog, Home Made Modern, I couldn’t wait to try it, and it didn’t disappoint.

I moved one of the dessert plates to the tabletop, so you could see the pattern.  I also purchased these at an estate sale.  I think I paid $10.00 for four of these, and I use them frequently.

I love the look of elegance on this tablescape, Laurie. Those silver pumpkins are beautiful! I saw some gold pumpkins at Pier 1 last week. I was so tempted.

Smiles,

The velvet pumpkins are gorgeous and the way you've built the table around them turned out gorgeous. That silver sheen of your table ought to be in a magazine. And it shows that someone who loves color around them can also incorporate a table like this into their life.

This is one of my favorites you've done!

Hi, Laurie! Your tablescape is to die for!! Love the mix of silver and whites, with a few pops of color. Very striking. The trophy cup holding the pumpkin is a fun idea. And the silver goblets are so pretty - I have the same ones! : ) Hugs, Catherine

Laurie, this is amazing and so elegant! Your friend's pumpkins are adorable and those silver champagnes are to "die for"! I chose Lenox "Solitaire", when I married, so I totally understand, about trying to find other china to mix with it. Lovely, lovely table!!

This one is downright elegant. That's not all that easy to do with fall table, IMO. I found myself thinking of the song, "Silver Threads Among the Gold" while looking at pictures. (I also clicked to the soup recipe while here. I love anything with the bite that the Rotel tomatoes with the chiles gives.
