FALL TABLE IN PASTELS!

Fall Tablescape in Pastels

I have something new for my table today!  I always use the same old things in every tablescape, but I’m so excited to announce that I have a new tablescaping accessory that I am using on this pastel Fall table.

I’ve used my aqua glass salad/dessert/bread plates and matching stems on several tables I’ve posted.  I bought them at Kohl’s a couple of years ago.

I’ve also used my European flatware before.  The monogram is on the backs of the forks and knives, which explains why my salad fork is placed upside down on the salad plate.

My Mother’s dinner plates (The Chelsea Rose by Royal Doulton) have shown up in a number of past tablescapes.   The “charger” is an aluminum throw-away tray from the Dollar Store that I’ve used on previous tablescapes.

And my Mother’s flatware has also appeared many times.

Figural napkin ring-Bargain Decorating with Laurie

Ta Da!  The stars of my table ! My new figural napkin rings.  I’ve always wanted some vintage figural napkin rings, but I knew I was too cheap thrifty to ever pay the price for them.  My napkin ring is a skating girl.

Napkin Ring--Bargain Decorating with Laurie

My sweetheart’s napkin ring is a sailor boy.  Aren’t they charming?  I went to an antique fair this past weekend.  When I spotted these two, on a shelf (not enclosed behind glass), I excitedly picked up the tag and read the price - “$15.00 each”!  I thought the dealer didn’t know their value until I looked on the bottom, and although they are almost vintage, they are not the very expensive Victorian era napkin rings that I have coveted.  They are reproductions, made in 1979.  To my surprise, as I was looking at them, the vendor walked over and said, “I’ll sell them to you for $10.00 each”!!  I couldn’t get that $20 out of my wallet fast enough!

I used my Grandmother’s pink glass salt cellars.

In addition to the aqua stems from Kohl’s, I used my pink depression glass stems (not intended for wine, but that’s the way I used them), which I purchased at an estate sale long ago.

Bread and Butter Plate

Another of the aqua plates, monogramed knives, and domes for bread and butter.

Pastel Fall Centerpiece

I again used my velvet pumpkins and acorns, which were made by my friend, Susie.  This time, I put them in my pink, reproduction depression glass compote.

Pastel Fall Centerpiece

I elevated a couple of the pumpkins with my reproduction blue Ball jars from Ace Hardware.

Oh Laurie, I would have never imagine you used the same things in your amazing and gorgeous tablescapes! I love the vintage looking napkin rings, they are very special, I've never seen anything as gorgeous as these and yes, I would have taken my $20 out in a breath for them! I also love all the pink depression glass and somehow everything looks very Fallish too! Have a fun Halloween.

Laurie, the new figurals are adorable. How could anyone walk away from these charmers. Great deal too! I've added a few of these when I find them at a reasonable price. I've long admired the really nice ones at one of the dealers who comes to Round Top. They are all priced in the hundreds, so they haven't come home with me. Glad you found these two. They have an appreciative home. '-)
Happy Halloween!

Wonderful table setting as always, Laurie. I adore your new napkin rings and have never found any myself. I'd have scooped them for the price too, no matter 1979, at least they were not made in China.

I love the aquas, Laurie, one of my favorite colors. And I love your figural napkin rings. I have 2 of them that I bought from an antique store so cheap too but I still have to use them. ...Christine

I'm pretty sure that aqua stemware from KOHL'S is Amelie French glassware. And I can safely tell you that I'm totally and utterly obsessed with it. It caught my eye immediately in the linky party. I'm always on the hunt for it and I have tons of pieces of that line. It looks GORGEOUS!!! And they are pretty special pieces if you ask me. So..they deserve to be pictured here in your beautiful tablescape :)))
