TABLESCAPE INSPIRED BY TABLECLOTH

A couple of months ago, I posted a floral tablescape with an April Cornell cloth.  I told you that I had ordered three April Cornell cloths on a sale site.  Today, I’m sharing a table using another one of those cloths.  It took me this long to iron another one.  I hate ironing, so I ended up paying someone to iron this cloth!  She did a much better job than I would have done.

The combination of colors in this cloth is a little unusual.  There are several different green colors, as well as cobalt blue along with aqua blue.

I would never have thought to combine the cobalt and the aqua, but you know me, I’m not going to leave out a color that is in the cloth!

I purchased the aqua glass salad plates at Kohl’s at the same time I purchased the matching water goblets.

I’m not sure why, but even when we are dining inside, I use a lot of Melamine plates in the summertime.  These are Jennifer Brinley by Certified International.  I used the same bright green, metal chargers that I used on my VERY colorful tablescape for my our granddaughter’s 13 birthday dinner.

An aqua water goblet with a cobalt wine stem. Who would have thought?  But I think it works with this cloth.

Love the AC tablecloth. How nice of the designers to make us get out of our normal mode. Love the aqua and the blue myself. The glass pieces are stunning and really, really belong on this table. Loving the parasols and the lanterns. The napkins really do go very well with the table. I guess I just love it all, right down to the bamboo flatware. xo marlis

You PAID somebody to iron this??!??! You are SO funny!!!! You must REALLY hate ironing!!! Girl, just do it the old-fashioned way our ironing lady used to do it: spritz the whole thing with water, roll it up in a plastic bag, put it in the fridge. A few hours later, take it out and start ironing right away while it's still cold. The wrinkles just fall right out. At least, that's what she always said! (Notice that I cannot personally vouch for that! :-) ) At any rate, the tablecloth is really, really pretty, and I love all the different shades in it.

I like to use melamine indoors in summer, too! They have so many varieties these days with lots of fun colors and patterns...who can resist? I love all the different colors!

Great choice in flatware! It works really well into the Eastern feel.

Very nice! Have a great weekend!

Tablecoths are a pain in the butt to iron, aren't they? Love this table, especially the color combo, so unique!

Laurie, this is gorgeous! I love blues and greens together. You made me laugh saying you weren't going to leave a color out. :) Love the plates and stemware...so pretty! I don't ironing tablecloths either. It's much better since I broke down and bought one of the wider ironing boards. I just realized they make those about 6-9 months ago. Also helps for napkin ironing. The umbrellas are such a wonderful backdrop...I just love it all! Hope you have a wonderful weekend and it's free of all ironing! ;)

Laurie,
Hi! The parasols are a delightful touch to an already pretty impressive table! The blues and green just are so refreshingly cool for summer! It astounds me the ingenuity you put into every tablescape!

I HATE ironing, too and will do anything to avoid it- I usually do the high heat with a wet towel in the dryer routine- that sometimes works but not often enough!!
