I’ve been in a blogging slump lately. I just can’t find anything to talk about. (My husband would be shocked and glad to read that!) I was walking around our home (searching for a blog topic), when I realized that I love details. Our family room contains a lot of treasures that I love because of their details.
So, today I’m sharing some of those details with you. I can only hope you enjoy details as much as I do. I love the carved detailed back of our sofa,
and I love the apron and the sexy leg on the sofa.
The carved detail and shape of our dining table leg and foot appeal to me. I’ve heard of someone being a “leg man”, but people may start calling me a “leg girl”.
If they do, they could be right, because I love the barley twist legs on this drop-leaf table I purchased at an auction, and
the turned spindles on my Mother’s drop-leaf table, and
the pedestal, legs, and feet on Mother’s fold up table, and
the apron and legs on the game table/desk (it folds up to make a desk) that my husband gave me one Christmas.
In addition to legs, I love details on chairs, like this carved grape pattern on our dining chairs,
and the painted patterns on two chairs I purchased at auction, and
the carving on this Frenchy chair, purchased at an estate sale. (Oh Shoot! there are some more of my beloved legs!)
I love the detail of the tassel fringe on this pillow, and
the contrasting cording on this pillow, and
on this chair.
The painted roosters on our bar stools are another favorite detail.
As an addicted collector of a lot of junk treasures, I love the detail of the door toppers I had added to this room.
Are you a detail person? Are you a leg person? Does anybody collect as much stuff as me? Forget I asked that last question! Thank you for coming to see my beloved legs ~ no, I actually hate MY legs, but I do love the legs on a lot of furniture pieces. laurie

I really like all your details and yes I love the legs too.
Don't feel bad I have been in a slump for a few months. The computer is on it's last leg and I'm just not being creative.
The furniture is stunning.

As always Laurie I love seeing your wonderful home and all the beauty you have in it..and YES my Dear friend you have some sexy legs..Hugs and love..Gloria
Laurie, I'm a detail person, so I very much enjoyed seeing some of the details in your family room. By the way, you family room looks like a wonderful place to spend time. It is a large space but yet has a very cozy feel. Fun to see more of your collections. Shoe forms? Didn't know about that one! Ah, and yes, I'm guilty of collecting a lot of stuff too. Fun, isn't it?
Great post! I love the details you shared. Your furniture is beautiful!
Smiles,
Carol
I am a detail person too, I sometimes think anyone who does tablescapes is a detail person cause there is so much to to keep track of as you know the camera sees everything...lol...love your beautiful things...
I like the French chairs and the painted Hitchcock. It's a lovely room.
I didn't know what Santons were. I looked them up, because they sort of look like something I have. I have two that look like the dressed ones, but I don't think they are true Santons from France; mine are probably imitations from south of the border.
Girl your home is a feast for the eyes every time! You have wonderful details in every spot. I love it all!
You are a 'leg' lady! LOL! I love the details and I think it's what makes a home interesting.
hugs,
Linda
I love all of your details too, you do have some of the most wonderful pieces. Great to see them up close. Thanks tons for joining Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
This is such a good post. Sometimes when I see a room, I wonder why it works so well and looks so great! I think it really is the details! I so want to make some pretty fancy pillows for my red sofas. I'm tired of the ones I have! lol Enjoy your day!
You definitely have some great details to enjoy! I love details, too.
You have the best looking legs I've ever seen and I mean that! Did you get down and dust all those legs? I never remember to do that until a guest is here and what is it that pops into view? Dusty legs and rungs. Not that I have legs like you have, not by far. But I could at least keep them polished.
I love your details. I hate the saying I hear a lot now that the devil is in the details. That's a corruption of the original saying that "God is in the details." I got that off my chest and feel better now.
Hello fellow blog slumper.
I can't believe that you would ever be in a slump because to me your whole home is just like one big candy store. (And I'm a kid.) I love the details you shared. My favorite table legs are the pedestal ones, and I love your beautiful Hitchcock chair.
(I am always so afraid that I'm going to open a blog someday, and some dunderhead 20-something will have chalk painted a Hitchcock. Seriously, you will hear a blood curdling scream all the way from Georgia... followed by a big thunk.
Yours (and all your detail) is just lovely!!
Sometimes our best posts come from blogging slumps and I do believe this is one!I LOVE all of your details. So neat to focus on the details of furniture and what enticed us to those pieces. I'd love to see a post on each of those collections that you kind of threw in there at the end. There is so much about your lovely home that you have yet to share with us.
