Y’ALL CONVINCED ME!

Your comments on my previous post convinced me that “if it’s green, it’s Irish” – at least during the month of March. For this green tablescape, I even moved my high/low table in front of the green plaid loveseat in my family room. Do ya think I might be getting a little carried away with this green in March obsession?

full tbl final

Since I’ve always used a mixture of patterns that have nothing to do with each other, I don’t guess I can blame y’all for that! I’ve said it before – you don’t find matching and coordinating linens and china if you are a bargain hunter, so I’ve learned to like things that don’t coordinate! That’s my story, and I’m stickin’ to it!

Okay, I’ve got daisies and four-leaf clovers on the tablecloth, Lillies of the Valley on the napkins, Apple Blossoms on the plates, and berries on the centerpiece wreath!  I think we can safely say that nothing on this table matches anything else on this table!  I’m not even going to start counting the different shades of green!

Speaking of “luck of the Irish” (oh, I wasn’t, was I?…Well, I’m going to now!)  I recently had the luck of the Irish when I won the giveaway at Foley’s Follies! The prize was a beautiful server with a cloche lid! Since I haven’t prepared any pretty food to put in the server (and since I’m kind of “in to” green this month), I put an “Irish village” under the cloche to show it to you.

cloche mos

Do you see that rather stern looking Irish lady? She’s delivering food, and she’s upset, because she thinks I should have displayed this server with a  delicious cupcake in it instead of a village!

Barb didn’t stop with just the server! Look what else I won.

001

I wish you could smell these candles. They are delicious! No, I didn’t take a bite out of the candle, but they do smell delicious! And see all of that bling around the candles? Barb sent bling in my prize box! If you haven’t visited Barb, stop by Foley’s Follies and see what she’s up to these days. Barb is such a sweet lady, and she always shares the most wonderful recipes. Thank you so much Barb.

Now all ye lads and lassies, do an Irish jig on over to Between Naps on the Porch for links to tablescapes. Top o’ the day to ya! laurie

I had to look and then go back and look 2 more times.. I cant tell you how much I like what you've done. Sitting the table in front of your loveseat is absolute GENIUS.. It looks so very welcoming in homey. The colors you've used and your gnome are just perfect with your other items. You just keep right on obsessing with the green and irish and I'll be back every time to enjoy all this eye candy.. I so need some of that grapevine with the green buds.. That was the perfect surround for your gnome.. OK, I'll hush but can you tell how much I love your scape> well if not, I'm telling you now..

Sonny~I enjoyed my visit here so much...

Love the Ridgways plates. I have a collections of Ridgways stuff, mostly red dominate to coordinate with my Old Britain Castles dishes. The collection started with a small dessert plate that my mother gave me. She has a whole set of them, and she gave one to me and one to Susie. I've found other stuff on eBay, most recently a tea set that arrived broken. I blogged about that one. Beautiful tablescape, Laurie.

I have been trying to find chargers like that..I found them, then forgot to bookmark them..and the ones i found weren't very pricey..
Maybe I will have the luck of the Irish and someone will know the site that had them!
They go with everything!

Nicely done, Laurie! I LOVE that you kept saying "estate sale" ... over and over ... like a mantra! Aren't they wonderful? Does your heart skip a beat as you drive up to one? I find myself wanting to unbuckle my seat belt before the vehicle comes to a complete stop ...

Sounds like an addiction, doesn't it? We could be doing something worse, right?

Your mis-matched table looks so warm and inviting ... much more interesting than matchy-matchy!

Oh, Laurie, it all looks very Irish to me. My mother's maiden name was a Mc-something. Every St. Pat's the family all gathered to feast on cabbage and corned beef, (and get drunk). You've done an outstanding job.

Good Morning Laurie Sweetie...
I so love this post. The green is just perfect and with all of it put together you have made a table fit for a Queen (estate sale or not). I love it. The tablecloth is so beautiful, and the dishes look gorgeous as a set. You have a beautiful eye for matching, and you've done it one again so beautifully. I thank you for sharing.

I love the little leprechaun/gnome, he's precious. I also drooled over the cloche (don't worry I wiped it up with my kleenex). It is beautiful and I love the little village inside. Great choice, it does look lovely.

Have a beautiful day sweetie and thank you for sharing.

Country hugs and much love...Sherry
