As I’ve said before, if you are a bargain hunter, there’s a good chance that things don’t match – at least at my house! For a family dinner this past weekend, I needed eight place settings. I only had six of one kind of plate, so on each end of the table, I used a different plate. I got those little flower-shaped bowls and plates on sale at Pier One. There were only 6 bowls (two pink and four yellow. There were eight of the little plates (five pink and three yellow). That is the reason I have yellow bowls with pink plates and vice versa!
Metal chargers} Estate Sale; place mats, napkins, and napkin rings} I’ve had them too long to remember. My sister-in-law made that cute tureen and the plate that is under it!
It’s really strange, but about the only thing that I had eight of for this table are the milk glass stemware, and those were purchased at three different estate sales!
Salt and pepper shakers were a purchase at a Hallmark sale last year, and the little Ms. Bunny server was my mother’s.
Since it was our grandson’s birthday, the children’s table was a birthday theme. See that cute fork with the bunny handle? I ordered those from The Lazy Peacock Etsy.
Don’t forget “A Few of My Favorite Things Saturday”. I’ll have MckLinky up at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, and I hope you’ll join. To read more about this event, please click here.
Don’t forget the Cloche Party at A Stroll Thru Life on April 2nd.
Today, I’m linking to Tablescape Thursday (along with most of Blogville) at Between Naps on the Porch.
I am so grateful for your visit to my blog. laurie

Hello Laurie! Love your mix and match...it's a style I'm very comfortable with!
Have a wonderful week. No tablescape from me this week.
Blessings...
So cute -- love the mixture on your table -- what a wonderful Mrs. Bunny and your SIL MADE that tureen? How wonderful!~ Love your pre-Easter table today.
Oh Laurie,
Can I sit at the grandkiddies table! It's sooo cute! I love all of your colorful plates, the tureen, the wonderful centerpiece, I just love it all! You have a Saturday party now? I will have to check it out!
Your tables always make me smile!!!
Hugs, Cindy
I love the way you mix and match - the colors are wonderful together. Sally
I love your sweet table. I loke things that go together. If they are all the same, it is too "matchy-matchy".
Laurie you always have the fun stuff in blogland that I do so love to see....Happy Birthday to your grandson...and girl in my house they are lucky to get matching paper plates ha ha!! Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
Laurie your table scapes are always so fun to see.
You did another great job on this one!!
We have over a foot of snow at our front door dumped just today! still a bit till we start spring here :(
Wow Laurie....you have the most extensive Easter colletions I've ever seen. They are all SO cute!!!! Your new head of the mantle is wonderful. Thanks for sharing. :)
Hi Lady! Your table is just beautiful and those dishes are so pretty. LOVE your header!
Your table is adorable, and I actually prefer to mix and match. It keeps things interesting. Your milkglass goblets are making me jealous. Might have to add that to things to look for. I love that it took you three different sales to come up with 8. I spaced out my tablescape for this Thursday, and next week I'm in Texas for Roundtop. I so wanted to show off my chicky egg cups. Darn!
Hi Laurie,
Darling table, I love that you used different patterns.....I need to get in touch with my free spirit self (I know its in there somewhere) and do a non matchy matchy table. Yours is devine. Love the kids table too.
~Maryrose
Your table is gorgeous and I love the mixing and matching! I love your lacey chargers too and the cute kid's silverware. Joni

Hi Laurie! I was so glad to see your comment on my little blog!! I finally decided to take the plunge and it has been a fun way to keep track of our lives! Your table is lovely! Tell everyone I said "Hi"! Elizabeth
If my kids were older and I had time for a road trip, I would want to stop by Atlanta, and go to the Classy Flea w/ Susan, and then come on down there and go to estate sales w/ you! My favorite thing on the table are those chick/egg s & p shakers (you'll see why in my latest post! :) Like that little cabbage tree & the tureen thingie your SIL made too.
I think your table looks so charming with the mis-matched look. Makes it so fun & interesting!
Smiles,
Carol
I love the mixey-matchey! Your table is lovely. Our daughter had the bunny flatware when she was a toddler - we hang it on the kitchen Christmas tree now. I should go get it out of the Christmas box and use it for Easter! Picture the look on hubby's face when I tell him to get those boxes down from the attic, too, LOL!
Laurie, everything at your house is always so cheerful! I love that about you. The bunny forks on the kids table are the cutest thing! Happy birthday to your grandson before I forget to say that! I really like the little cabbage centerpiece you have. And all the mixed and matched plates and bowls just make the table more interesting. I remember having thanksgiving dinners at our house when I was a teenager, and there were so many of us that we sat around a ping pong table (yes I said ping pong table, it was the only table big enough to get 4 families around) with about 3 or 4 different types of dinner plates. Matching dinnerware didn't matter. The important thing was that we were all friends and we were together. :-)
Hi Laurie!
Oh, I love this table. It is so pretty yet with fun touches. As one thrifter to another, you know mix and match is right up my alley! I love the Doulton china...just beautiful! And that centerpiece cabbage is wonderful!
Have a great evening!
Dear gorgeous Laurie,
Who cares if things don't match, I this looks fabulous.
and where did you get that amazing cabbage leaf (I think)vase. I love it!!!
Thanks for the wonderful comments that you always leave for me.
Wishing you a wonderful easter season and also, I love all your decorations on your top blog photo.
You're amazing!!
xx Coty
Laurie,
Me again,
I meant to say I think, not 'I this'
I'm not well.....
xx Coty
Laurie, your table is gorgeous. I love all the pretty yellow. It is one of my favorite colors right now. So spring and happy. All of the dishes are wonderful finds and I especially love that lettuce centerpiece. What a lovely piece. The childrens table is just beautiful. I am so behind on visiting, I just noticed your "Favorite Things". I will see what I can put together for Sat. Such fun. Hugs, Marty
This is a great job for eight people. My table only seats four, so it's easy to buy four of everything. But I think the yellow and pink are very springlike and go very well together. Finding all the milk glass is funny and I love it! Your centerpiece is great too. Love the darling children's table, too!
Just saw your Saturday party. I am looking forward to it!!
xoxo
Jane
Set an extra odd plate...I am on my way over. Oh, how I wish!!!
I love your mix and match ! My guests are mix and match..I can't figure out what they go with!
Your sil made that? wow..
I love the cabbage bowl in the center! Looks very interesting!
Have to figure out the Sat thing..going to read it again!
Love your beautiful table. Cute centerpiece!
What an artistic eye you have! I love all the mixing and matching, especially the floral napkins with the placemats. Just a beautiful table, and I know your family will appreciate it!
Pretty, as usual, Laurie!:-)
Laurie, I have a post scheduled to post tomorrow for your new meme on Sat. I will be gone tomorrow evening and wondered if you would link me up when you get Mr. Linky going. This is such a fun idea and I enjoyed putting the post together. Hugs, Marty
One of these days I am going to join this fun Meme. Maybe the next time I have company for dinner and actually set a table! Yours are always so delightful Laurie. And did I see some little fuzzy bunny tails hanging from your mantle? That made me smile big time. xo Lynn
They don't have to match. The pretty pastel colors together spell "Spring".
Have a great weekend!
I love the mix of things--a table this pretty shows that *everything* doesn't have to be an exact match.
Oh Laurie,
I just love your mix and match, mine never seems to turn out sooo beautiful. How cute to do two different tables:)
Have a wonderful Friday.
Laurie...love your Easter tablescape! Those bowls are adorable...but the bunny fork stole my heart! :-)
Hi Laurie! Your table is gorgeous. I love mismatched dishes and have quite a stash myself. I'm so glad your eggs arrived and you love them! Amanda xoxo
Love this table! I love it when you first look and it seems that all matches... but then you look further and see that it is wonderfully coordinated! :) Sew pretty! I also love the all the cabbages and bunnies. Too cute!
~Liz
P.S. Love your little Easter Tree below!!!
Hi Laurie,
You have a gift for including charming details, incorporating whimsical elements, and arranging everything so artfully that it all flows into a perfectly unified vision that seems natural and effortless. It takes more time and effort to mix than to match, but I find it so much more interesting! Nicely done, as always.
Warmest regards,
Bill
Laurie your tables are always overwhelmingly wonderful! I always feel that you must have the most amazing family dinners. Makes me wish so much that I could be there for one.....Maybe I can serve or something? *winks* I don't know how you keep doing it?? But I'm so glad you do! Love Vanna
Love this fun Easter table Laurie. I love the way you've mixed things up here. Those little bowls and salad plates are adorable. But my favorite is that wonderful centerpiece! Kathy
I commented on your pretty table earlier, but wanted to write in response to your kind comments on my first TT post. I love that you also have Lenox Moonspun! I wonder if we married about the same time -- 1972. I HAVE put mine in the dishwasher on the China setting, without ill effect. I'll show the Moonspun again when I do a table with my Lenox Windsong china.
Pretty..pretty..pretty!!!! I love it when things don't match and yet they just go together so good...what a pretty table setting girl..I just love the yellows and all the treasures from your mama...love this post! I hope you have a great weekend sweetie!!!! ~Picket~
Laurie, I love to mix and match although some of my relatives think I'm nuts. LOL what do they know?
Everything just seems to flow together in your table settings. Love how all the bunnies, the cabbage, eggs coordinate just so!
hugs, Sue
Beautiful tablescape Laurie! I really love the way you have made this look homely yet sophisticated at the same time. I am definitely going to borrow some of your great ideas!
See you Saturday!
Best wishes,
Natasha.
What a charming Easter table. You are really making me feel sad about not pulling out my Easter things. I think that will definitely be on my to do list tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration!
Beautiful dishes, table accessories and centerpiece, Laurie. Love the mix of colors. The little bunny forks are so cute....Christine
Hi there. I'm always mix and matching - using what I have. Love the setting and how it's all put together!
