A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS

I’m so excited to be hosting the second weekly “My Favorite Things Saturday”.

This week I’m sharing several new favorite things that I have recently received in the mail. If you’ve visited my blog very often, you’ve probably seen the name “Susie”. Susie is one of my “bestest” friends. We were childhood friends, and we remain very close. The other day, I received a package from Susie. No, it’s not my birthday – Susie is just that way – always doing nice things for others.

That package was so much fun to open, because it contained some of my newest favorite things. Look at this precious egg-shaped Easter plate. Isn’t that the sweetest plate ever?

EGG PLATE

The box also contained these no calorie Easter treats (it contained one of those high calorie Easter chocolates too, but it’s already gone!). You may have seen Susie’s darling felt cupcakes on her sister-in-law’s blog, Life in the Slow Lane. Now, I’m the proud owner of one of Susie's cupcake creations.

FAUX DESSERTS

This adorable bunny was also in the box from Susie. He’s sitting in a watering can with his cabbage and his peas in a pod.

BUNY N WTRG CAN

My next new favorite thing is this tassel I got from Butterfly Genes Etsy. He’s the perfect addition to my kitchen!

ROOSTER

If you’ve visited my blog within the last week, you know I NEEDED some more Easter eggs! I ordered these two cute German paper mache eggs from 32 North blog. Right now, these are my favorites of all of my eggs!

eggs crop

I should be embarrassed to show you my next new favorites, but I’ve already shared enough on my blog to let y’all know I’m a little crazy (maybe a lot)! These also came in the mail. You’ve heard the saying “one man’s trash is another’s man’s treasure”. Around my house that saying is, “one man’s trash is Laurie’s treasure”. That’s embarrassing enough, but you will not believe what I’m about to tell anyone and everyone who might happen to read my blog. People in France are now sending me their trash, and worse than that, I am KEEPING their trash!

EGG CARTN MOS

This egg carton and laundry detergent box were packing for the Quimper pottery I recently ordered. The seller had saved his empty containers, but rather than throw them away, he used them as padding for the pottery – a great re-use of his trash. I’m sure he never expected the recipient to keep his trash and display it in her food pantry and in her laundry room!! Can you believe I just told you that? I can’t!

If you are here to join “Favorite Things Saturday”, please copy and paste the link to your Favorite Things post in MckLinky below. Normally, the Favorite Things link will not be here until Friday evening. Today, I am unexpectedly going out of town, and I don’t know if I’ll return in time to get my post with MckLinky up this evening, so it is here earlier today. Thank you so much for joining today.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Please be sure to click on the links to find other’s who have posted their favorite things today. (I think I can safely promise you that nobody else is going to show you trash)! laurie

Laurie, I'm still chuckling about the French trash, but now I'm curious as to what arrived with it. Is this the pair of plates or has some more Q found its way to your home? Love seeing all the Easter things. I've been so busy that haven't pulled any of my Easter things out. If I don't do it this weekend I'll miss my opportunity. LOL A friend gave me a set of nesting eggs like the ones you've shown.
Tell Susie I said hi. Happy, Happy, dear friend!

Did Debra really post about Ground Lamb Prints??? (see the link?)
Well here I was all worried that my post was too junky, and you posted about trash someone mailed you! LOL..
I love your new Easter goodies, but I think unless you are adding on, you better STOP! :)
Great post Laurie, I think this is going to be a fun meme...we can never run out of favorite things..

This might surprise you, (NOT!), but I would have done the same thing! In fact, keeping that egg crate was an eggscellent idea. Sorry, couldn't pass that one up (it's late!). Now, I really came by to feed your habit. LOL. I had this blog (well, one like it) marked for Christmas, and saw that she has one for spring. If you get the chance, check out the vintage wreath idea (that she likened to I Spy or Where's Waldo or something). Somehow, it reminded me of you. (and me of course, because if Laurie likes it, so does Penny! LOL)
