A PASTEL EASTER TABLESCAPE

If you saw my Easter tablescape a couple of weeks ago, you know that I used red plaid Christmas plates for an Easter tablescape. As I've said before, we have large holiday gatherings, so I have to use more than one table for Easter. I used normal Easter colors on the table I am posting today. (Someone please make a note of that -- I'm talking about write it down -- Laurie did something "normal"!) Does anybody actually write anything down any more? Do we even remember what writing is? Sorry, my mind wandered to a topic that has nothing to do with tablescaping - I guess you can scratch that note about Laurie doing a normal blog post. Another tablescape in my sun room, which I photographed at night, so again, no sun in the sun room and no view out the windows!

I have cocktail napkins with Easter eggs on them. Since I didn't want my guests to have to use that dainty little napkin, but I wanted to use the Easter egg napkins, I combined them with some pastel napkins

As usual, I don't have enough of something to make my table look uniform. I only have four blue napkins, so I had to use pink ones on the place settings at each end of the table. I am using my grandmother's pink salt cellars.

I'm using china that was my mother's. It is Royal Doulton "The Chelsea Rose". I have six place settings of the china, because my mother had 12 place settings and my sister and I divided them. Hey! all my plates on my table match (that's another normal moment in my blogging life!) (Thanks Mother).

Last week, my centerpiece featured flowers coming out of the head of a dog. This week, the same flowers are coming out of the back of a bunny. (I hope they are going to hold up until Sunday). I have no idea why flowers keep sprouting out of animals at my house! The plate under the bunny centerpiece belonged to my grandmother. I've had that handle that is on the plate for years. It clips on to the sides of a plate, and believe me, it has been on a lot of different plates at my house.

There's a bunny gymnastics meet going on under the cake stand.

Be sure to head over to Susan's at Between Naps on the Porch to link up with all of the tablescapes in Blogville. Thank you, Susan, for being such a gracious hostess for Tablescape Thursdays.

Isn't this one of the coolest awards you've seen? (I know, that's only because we've never seen one that is an air conditioner-- sorry, I couldn't resist being a little lame--okay, maybe a lot lame)! When I first saw this award on someone's blog, I thought it was such a great idea -- I mean, how neat is it to think that your blog has a fan? You can just imagine my shock and my delight when I got an email that said "I'm A Fan of your Site"! I was BLOWN away! (Sorry, I'm really into being lame tonight -- I hope that doesn't make me lose my fan!)

Kathy at Empty Nester, I really was BLOWN away by this very COOL award! Thank you so much for being my fan. I am so honored to receive this from you. If you haven't been to Kathy's blog, you need to go there now. When I received this award from her, I gave it right back to her, because I am a fan of her blog. The rules for this blog are:

1. Leave a comment or an email for your favorite blogger telling them that you are a fan of the site.2. Feel free to copy and paste the award, or you can get the code at Sited and Blogged to present to your blog friend or post on your site when it is awarded to you.3. When you receive more than one fan, put the number of fans you have received under the image.4. The more fans you receive the better! So, what are you waiting for...tell someone you're a fan of their blog...HAVE FUN

I only leave a comment on a blog if I am a fan of that blog, so if I have ever left a comment on your blog, please take this award to your blog. If you already have this award, and I've left a comment on your blog, please add me to the number of fans under the fan award on your blog.

Thank you so much for coming by to visit me today. laurie

Hello Dearheart...

Ohhh Girlfriend...I am one of your biggest fans! I hope that you know that!!! Congratulations on your blog fan award!

Darlin'...I love your pretty pastel Easter tablescape...it's gorgeous!!! Love that pretty tablecloth...I was looking at the pretty pattern on the sides of it...gorgeous!!! And I love your layered napkins...those little cocktail napkins with the eggs on them are darling and they look really pretty with the dinner napkins! Hmmm...trying to think (Oh NO!..hehe!) but I think this is the first time that I've seen your mama's china? Ohhh...I love the pattern on it! So pretty and with the pretty flowers in the center of the plates...so perfect for an Easter tablescape!

Okay...lets talk table centerpiece! Of course, I hope you know that you always just "blow me out of the water" with your centerpieces...they're always so original...unique...and creative! I just love what you do with them! I love the bunny gymnastics going on under the cake plate...that's just too darn cute! Precious!!! Well you've set another beautiful and memorable table, my friend! You're such a creative and talented gal!!!

Sending you and your family my very best wishes and blessing for a wonderful Easter, Sweetie!
Love ya,
Chari

Such a pretty "normal" table! I knew since you made the red plaid work for Easter, pastel colors would be no trouble! Love the napkins and napkin rings especially! :D Jewel

Hi Laurie...I love this tablescape and I love the idea of mixing and matching!! Your pastel Easter table is beautiful! Clever using the cocktail napkin with the dinner napkin.

I am a writer downer...if I didn't write down things, I would never know what in the world I am supposed to be doing!! J's a writer downer too. He's the official appointment recorder at our house!

I didn't list my table at Susan's this week. I was afraid with all the running and doing again this week, I would not be able to get around to everyone. That's happened a couple times lately. So to assuage my guilt of not getting to all the tablescapes, I didn't list mine!LOL

That handle that attaches to a plate is the coolest thing. I want one. You and I have the same problem. I have just four of too many things. Hard to set a table for six when you only have four placemats, four napkins, etc. You seem to work it out nicely.

Hi Laurie, love your tablescape! You always have the cutest stuff, like the easter egg napkins and napkin rings. I looked everywhere for something cute like that but had no luck. I like that your napkins don't match, makes things more interesting! You did a wonderful job!! Kristen

your table is adorable and I just LOVE the acrobatic bunnies!
As for my other bunny...well...not that I think you wouldn't give him a wonderful (normal) home...but he does occupy my table in the breakfast room quite nicely! If I ever tire of him I'll keep your most generous offer in mind!

Hey Sweet Laurie, Where do I begin? First., you are the sweetest "normal" person I know in blogland., and I am a huge fan of your "writing", you know that! ;) Next, I love the fact that you do what I do., you work with what you have! So what that the two placesettings on the end have a different color napkin! lol., tell em they're special so they get the accent color! I think we can make "acceptable & fun" excuses for anything on our tablescapes... The more we do that, the more enjoyment and conversation we create with our scapes! I love that plate holder that has been in the family for years., how cool is that! And the bunny., and those posies springing up out of the backs...totally COOL to see how they don't mind at all sharing those buds! ;) I just can't imagine what animal vase you might select for Sunday., gotta chicken? ;))) You are so fun to follow and to read all your cute phrases and I always LOVE your pics! Don't underestimate yourself friend, you have great ideas to share and inspire others! Have a blessed Easter with your friends and family! ~CC Catherine

Laurie you're so sweet to come by and check on me! I wish I could tell you I'd been on a lovely trip but alas no...we've all been sick with a stomach flu thingy! I got sick Sunday night and today's the first day I've even come to the computer! First 3 days you couldn't get me out of bed except to run to the...well, you don't need TMI! My oldest had it..we even took him to the hospt. er because he was dehydrated, then I got it and then my husband came down with it! Looks like we're all on the mend now and hope and pray the youngest doesn't get it! Of course he's the one that the minute he got a car the only time we see him is to come home shower and sleep! So he hasn't been around enough to catch it I hope! I hope you have a wonderful and blessed Easter with your family! Your table is precious! as always! Love ya! Lauralu :)

I don't collect china like it seems so many people do. You would think I did because I am always looking at the stuff on my treasure hunts. Anyway we have big celebrations like you do and it's always served buffet style with paper plates. But I do take great pride in finding the prettiest paper napkins I can. :))) xo Lynn
