STILL PRACTICING!

It's Tuesday again, so we all know what that means. It's time for the amazingly popular, Tablescape Tuesday, hosted by Susan at Between Naps on the Porch.
Yes, I know I did a practice Thanksgiving tablescape last week. Well, since we have 30 people for Thanksgiving dinner, we use several tables, so I have a lot of practicing to do. This table is in my sunroom (of course I took the pictures at night; hence no sun in the sunroom).

The turkey tureen in the center of the table holds faux berry stems. I have elevated it on a cake platter, because it leaves more room on the table for eating. I think our guests are coming for food... not tablescaping!

You see the lid to the turkey tureen? I hope nobody picks it up and moves it, because the base of the tureen has a huge broken piece. No, I didn't break it in my rush to serve 30 people last Thanksgiving. It came that way! That's why I only paid $5.00 for it. The way I look at it, I don't have to worry about breaking my expensive tureen when I'm serving dinner to 30 people.

I bought these hunt scene plates at a junk store one time. Since then, I've learned that they were grocery store china (you know, if you spend a certain amount of money, you get a plate). Well, I like them anyway, and the colors are nice for Fall. Maybe some of you got a set of these at the grocery store. Maybe one of you sold them, and I bought them at a junk store! Are we eating on your old china?

Speaking of breaking things, Years ago, I had eight of these votive candle holders. This year, I'm down to two. We'll see if these two make it through this year's celebration. I just know you will be anxiously waiting to hear if they survived!

I clipped a faux berry branch to tie around the napkins. I'm using my mother's silver and crystal at this table.

Only one more Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I'm not sure I have enough practicing time, and I'm certainly not sure you have the patience to come look at another Thanksgiving tablescape on my blog!

I'll bet that if you go to Between Naps on the Porch, you'll find some people who are not obsessing on Thanksgiving tablescapes. Thanks so much for putting up with all of my practicing. laurie

Absolutely adore your votives. Hope they make it "one" more year. They never have neat dishes when they have promotions at the store where I shop, when not shopping at the Walmart Supercenter.
You did your Mother's crystal and silver proud.

Wow! Laurie anyone who gets to sit down at your beautiful table is blessed indeed! But girl 30 people?!!That's a crowd for sit down! We have 30 at our Thanksgiving as well, but what they get is a big ole buffet with a huge stack of mismatched plates and whatever forks knives and spoons I can muster up....And they're lucky to get those too! I definitely have to start collecting beautiful china like ya'll! Oh and Laurie depression glass was also giveen in flour sacks and as movie give aways etc...and boy is it collectible now!! Just like your plates! Vanna

Laurie, I love your turkey - what a great $5 bargain! You are just too cute! Where do you come up with this stuff? I used to have 30 guests for the holidays when I was married. And wasn't it something that they were always at my house? We used to set up a big ping pong table in the family room and all eat around it. It worked out great. ~ Robyn
